Product description

Ingstad is a brand new aluminium pole manufactured in I 7075 aluminium for light weight and solidity. With a long and comfortable handle designed to allow an easy change of grip in varying terrain, it is perfect for anyone going out in the back country, trekking and touring.

Designed and developed in collaboration with Per Finne Design at Voss in Norway to withstand long and hard use in the mountains and on expeditions.
  • Long grip in EVA – designed for quick changes of grip
  • New belt construction – for easy length adjustment
  • New belt lock
  • New adjustment around the wrist (one-hand grip)
  • Security leash attachment
  • Solid loose snow basket in Hypalon and PA6
  • Aluminium construction
Choosing the right length

Ski poles for back country use will usually have to be approximately 35-40cm shorter than your own height, as a thumb of rule. Another way to measure, is to pick a pole that is around length from your armpit to the ground or 5cm shorter whilst standing upright.

Skill, experience, use and personal preferences will also influence your choice of length. But be sure to not choose your poles too long, as that hinders blood circulation in the arms, makes it uncomfortable and gives you cold fingers while skiing in cold weather. All in all, it is about personal preferences.

Weight: 450 g (per pair, 145cm)
Material: alloy 7075
Use: mountain and expeditions
Basket material: hypalon and pa6

The approximate size of the packed product or the sales package is 150 x 1600 x 150 mm.

Long handle good, comfortable to use. A fifth star would come if bigger sommas were included as standard

The only special feature is the rod link. I don't really understand how it should be, but with my own tuning it has stayed in hand. Maybe that's right then. Otherwise, OK rods.

A solid kick! Good luck! A bigger bag would be tough, of course.

Poles are great. The new strap system - not so much. I find it difficult to open and close.

Get good poles for cross-country skiing. The handle is excellent (long model). Somma could perhaps be a little bigger in a closed hangar

Durable feel, easy to adjust once you get the hang of the idea. Reasonably light for aluminum rods. The long grip area allows you to easily adjust the "length" of the rod by changing the grip point, i.e. by adjusting the length at the wrist. I consider this a more usable solution during skiing than a telescopic solution, which would also add weight. The only minus is the slightly small sizes, but when you also buy the larger ones of the brand, you can get spare pieces of the smaller ones.
