These can't be criticized because they can't be attached to the Kånken backpack at all other than by threading them onto the shoulder straps. So they always flow down the strap and don't stay on the shoulders. Maybe I'll go shopping, they were quite expensive.

They distribute the weight nicely when the backpack is packed heavier. They also work well for smaller users. In their current form, they also accept the Kånken chest strap. It is worth noting or being aware that these and the Kånken rain cover use the same fastening snaps on the backpack, so they are alternative to each other and at least not very usable at the same time.
