Product description

Kikut Perform GTX is a warm and comfortable ski boot for the active winter enthusiast. A backcountry ski boot made from full grain leather for moderate to challenging skiing in the mountains and alpine environments. Developed with a focus on the highest comfort and the ability to withstand cold temperatures. The boot has a thermal insulating midsole, as well as an anatomical insole. Extra toe reinforcements protect the leather from sharp edges. Certain snow/crust conditions are an extreme strain on the shoes materials, and with use under such conditions increased wear is expected.

Size chart

To easily measure the length of the foot, place a piece of paper against the wall. Then place the foot (barefoot or with a thin sock) on the paper with the heel against the wall. It is important to stand upright when measuring. Put a line in front of the longest toe and measure with a ruler. Measure both feet; it is not uncommon for one foot to be larger than the other. Round up to the nearest integer to find your size. These methods act as supervisors. It is recommended that you always try on the shoes to find the perfect boot and fit as no two feet are alike.

Based on one test session, comfortable and soft overalls. The shoe feels quite loose, even a thicker sock can fit on the foot when it's cold.

First ski run with these. The feeling of skiing was OK and the legs also improved (-17). I originally suspected the size was too big, but now without the insole supporting the arch of the foot, with two medium wool socks, they felt perfectly fine to me. The big toe of the left foot, which was broken twice, didn't get angry either. In size 45, the toe of the mono would perhaps have been too tight (the previous madshus were size 44 and with the insole that supports the arch of the foot in use, tight at the toe). The Viking rubber boots I normally have are size 43. These overalls I bought are now size 46 and I'll go with them. WITHOUT that annoying big toe, I would have taken a size smaller, i.e. 45.

They require a light run-in like hiking boots, but fit quite well after that and don’t rub. I bought one size bigger to go with two thicker socks. The legs have so far remained warm in the twenty degrees of frost. The arms are sturdy enough for varying terrain and downhill. The use of gaiters is recommended when skiing a lot of a closed project. For multi-day ski trips, I would prefer models with a detachable lap to get it dry faster, with limited drying options. Goes just fine as long as there are replacement socks.
