— Show originalThe device has been in use for a while now and has proven to be a good purchase even for such a hobbyist rider. It's easy to connect to different sensors and devices, and even sunlight comfortably charges the device for additional time, even though there hasn't really been a need for this yet. The battery itself lasts well, and it hardly needs to be charged after every run. It took some time before I learned how to browse through the menus and select the right things, but now with a few times of experience, using the device has already become routine. — Show originalThe Garmin Edge 540 user interface is clearly designed for a touch screen. It's painful to use the pieces to operate, but yes, you can manage with it now. I got this on sale and the 840 base version later came on sale. I would have paid about 70-80e more for the touch screen without Solar.
The included standard mount went with thicker rubber to Canyon's CP series carbon fiber bar. So that was a nice thing.
A good device despite everything, and the Edge Remote accessory I bought for changing screens while driving is quite necessary, although it seems to be necessary in 840 cases as well. But I almost inoculate two stars for that interface.
