Thanks to the always reliable GPS bike computer, you can ride as long as you want. The Edge 1040 is ready for all kinds of riding, from gravel trails to brutal climbs. In addition to the Edge 1040 GPS bike computer, this handy package also includes a speed and pedal sensor, an HRM-Dual heart rate belt and mounting brackets. All you have to do is attach the equipment to the bike and pedal!
Dense trees and dense urban areas do not hinder accurate positioning with multi-band GNSS technology, and the battery lasts for accurate measurements up to 35 hours, and up to 70 hours with the economy setting. Thanks to the maps according to the driving type, you can drive like a local, and based on the endurance data, you know how long you can last.

You get the information that will help you cope from one kilometer to the next. The Edge 1040 notifies you when it's time for hydration or food.

DIFFICULTY AND FLUENCY
The degree of difficulty measures the challenge of the ride based on, for example, the GPS function and the altitude. The level of fluency follows how smoothly you drive down the trail. That way you get the score that you can beat next time.
LONG-LASTING BATTERY
The battery life of the Edge 1040 device is up to 35 hours even in demanding use and up to 70 hours in battery saving mode. The battery life can be doubled with the optional Garmin Charge™ power battery.
MULTI-BAND GNSS
Multi-system multi-band GNSS technology guarantees excellent positioning and coverage even in the most challenging environments.
MAPS ACCORDING TO DRIVING TYPE
You can ride like a local, regardless of the type of bike, with improved maps according to your riding type. They highlight popular roads and trails and include searchable waypoints.
WITH THE TRAILFORKS APP
You can easily search for routes on the Edge device with global mountain bike trail information and Trailforks waypoints that support routing. You can also download the Trailforks app to transfer your planned routes from the Trailforks website.
FORKSIGHT FARM
This mode automatically displays trail branches ahead and shows your position in the trail network.
TRANSLATION-SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS
Thanks to detailed driving directions and alerts for upcoming turns, you won't get lost.
RECOUNTING IN THE TERRAIN
You are free to interrupt the route guidance and off-route notifications when you leave the route to explore the surroundings. When you're ready to get back on track, the Edge 1040 Solar will lead the way.
SUPPORTS THE SHIMANO STEPS EBIKE SYSTEM
You can view the eBike status screen, data fields, system status and warnings. While driving, you can also see, for example, the assistance level, gear position and battery life.
INREACH® COMPATIBILITY
You can stay connected no matter where you are driving by pairing your Edge device with a compatible inReach device. You can view and reply to messages, share travel information and trigger interactive SOS alerts.
VARIA™ COMPATIBILITY
By pairing the Edge 1040 bike computer's Varia radar and Lights, you can see and be seen.
EVENT RECOGNITION
This Edge will automatically send your location in a message to preloaded emergency contacts if it detects an event.
