I wanted a universal headlamp for cycling (for seeing - not so much), walking the dog, doing yard work, changing car tires, etc. Indoors, I also use a headlamp for chores that require precision when general light is not enough. At first, I considered a battery-powered version from the same manufacturer. However, I found some comments online that the battery door latch breaks too easily, so I rejected that option. Good: - the lamp always lights up with the same setting as where it was turned off. - the light output is enough for my needs - but this is not a searchlight that can reach hundreds of meters. - the lamp has both a wide-angle general light and a spot light - and both together. - the light output adjustment works steplessly and is easy to use: the lamp emits a small flash of light that shows when the light output has been adjusted to its extreme position: minimum or maximum. - if you suddenly need to turn on all the light output, it can be done easily and quickly by placing your index finger close to the side of the lamp and then quickly pulling your finger away. When you do this again, the lamp will return to its initial state. So don't tap on the side of the lamp. This is probably done by those online reviewers who say that this function is not usable. - green, blue and red light should also be used when moving in the forest with the dog in the dark. - with the help of three indicators, the battery charge is displayed every time you turn the lamp on or off. - turning the lamp on and off and adjusting the power can also be done while wearing (thin) gloves. - in my use, the battery has not had to be constantly charged - the lamp also works during charging, so by connecting a power bank here, the lamp can give light for a very long time if necessary. - waterproof - the angle adjustment is sturdy Bad: - the lamp still uses a USB-micro cable for charging, although the USB-C cable is already more common - when running, the lamp is a bit heavy and protruding - the strap could be sturdier and slightly wider. Adjusting the tension/length of the strap, on the other hand, is well designed and can be done on the fly. - when the battery reaches the end of its life, it cannot be replaced and the lamp becomes hazardous waste. As a do-it-yourselfer, at that point I will of course still try to open the lamp and find out if it can somehow continue its life. Judging by the whole, I am satisfied with my purchase!
