A great pack for kayaking, canyoning, or mountain biking during the warmer seasons. Thanks to the body moulded shell, the ergonomics are excellent regardless if it is empty or heavily packed. Shoulder straps are made of top quality neoprene to follow the movements of your arms. It features a water tight roll top, a goggle pocket inside the lid, pole/ice axe attachments, quick lock straps for skis and boards, and a built-in shovel guard.
The body is made with a Double-shell High Density foam (DHD) with a rip stop nylon mesh. Another groundbreaking technology in manufacturing from Boblbee. Accessories available.

The Amphib double shell Expanded Vacuum Foam is a groundbreaking technology in manufacturing from Boblbee, that combines the best of two worlds: protection and light weight.

Development brief: - To create an ergonomic modular backpack system that is 100 % waterproof, provides exceptional stability for carrying equipment, and is ultra light and slim in size to allow for body movement while performing a multitude of targeted sports such as kayaking, canyoning, skiing, snowboarding, and biking.

Engineering and design challenge: -To achieve an ergonomic carrying platform that would perform the same regardless of how it is packed and that is strong but also flexible and very light.
A solution was drafted from looking at the manufacturing of water tight trekking shoes and how they are glued and rim stitched. Consequently, special manufacturing equipment was developed to produce the Amphib concept as a large water-tight sporting shoe. Herein lies the level of innovation that, combined with Boblbee's OEM buckles and water tight gaskets, create a unique system with new opportunities in how to design and manufacture high performance carrying gear.

Material development:
-While the Vacuum Expanded Foam carries great values in being light and mouldable, the material needed added protection against cuts and sharp rocks. An OEM solution was developed to bond heavy duty rip stop nylon onto the foam. This added the desired strength through adding a minimum of weight, to create a new laminated material. In addition, all critical areas such as the bond between the shells, corners, and shovel guards have been reinforced with Hypalon, a fibre reinforced vulcanized rubber canvas.

Protection development: The main compartment is sealed off with a welded dive bag type “roll top”. When the foam lid is closed the “Trapped Air” (trademark) doubles as an airbag. Water proof and shock absorbing.

Ergonomic development: -The Vacuum Expanded Foam has been carefully moulded to conform to several body constitutions while retaining stability. Special care went into achieving ultra light shoulder straps and a waist belt that would allow for maximum body movement. Inspiration came from looking at body suits for surfing that pose the same challenge. A thin hinge moulded neoprene sheet gave the desired characteristics of strength, comfort, and very high degree of flexibility.
