A wing dividing the front hackles and with the balancing 1?2 turbo cone as head. To tie with the 1/2 turbo demands a few tricks. Most of the wing ready before the last hackle and then ending with the last few strands of wing. Different cones give different shape and profile. The regular cone for the slimmest fly and the turbo cone for the fattest with the broadest profile. These are in between, a regular classic look. I fish my “Puzzy” style a lot. I tie them almost the same with the same materials but end with collar hackles in front of the wing and a turbo cone to create turbulence, translucency and a broad drop formed profile. The patterns are the same only the styling differs. Most of my flies originates from this family. The complex fly with all ingredients. To me these are the most fun to both tie and fish – they are the Classics of our time.
