F1d is a slightly special version of our classic F1 model. We have not only changed the color of the handle and the blade, but also added another steel, namely our now famous laminate cobalt steel. The bottom line will be a tough, good-looking all-round knife with a blade that retains its edge extremely well but which is also strong and capable to stand incredible strain. F1d will be available in this particular combination only: a light sand-colored handle, a black blade and a safe plastic sheath in zytel. Looking for a little different but at the same time secure knife, the F1d might be your best choice.
Model F1 is the official survival knife for pilots within the Swedish Air Force since 1995. With this knife a new world standard was set! Important factors such as technical design, ergonomy and economy are brought together within the model F1. It represents the foremost concept available today. The knife meets and surpasses by far established international standards for strength, personal security and value for money.
Model F1 represents an entirely new philosophy with respect to knives for survival use. At the same time it combines the experience of generations of knife manufacturing with modern technology. The handy size, the well thought-out design, the incredibly tough laminated steel are only a few of many details making this knife something you can rely on. Model F1 is a handy knife and it’s tremendously versatile. The safe, pleasant grip together with a very hard yet tough laminated steel, makes the knife very useful for all kinds of daily work but also demanding tasks.
The injection molded zytel sheath offers a neat, safe and strong combination of qualities which should be very attractive to any user. The one hand operated zytel sheath is easy to keep clean and is also avaible for left-handed, same quality and same price.
Black coating
If there are moments when you wish to avoid reflections from your blade, then the black CeraCoat 8H A1 is the option for you. This extremely tough surface will also protect the blade from corrosion. Cera-Coat is a hard coating that consists of Teflon and ceramics. We apply it as a result of a demand, particularly from military users – glossy blades and objects are usually not very popular among these users. However, one should be aware that it is an applied finish, much like paint on a car, and that physical abrasion finally will make the coating to leave from the blade surface. Attaching a black surface on a rust resistant, perfectly smooth blade so that it sticks for time and eternity is all impossible. We have tested some extremely hard coatings, but they proved to be 100 times as costly and made it impossible to hand sharpen the knife.
