An absolute must. In cross-country sneakers, socks always get wet in these conditions, whether they have goretex films or not. Water is absorbed from the ankle to the sock and from there to the entire foot. But with these socks you can even go through every puddle. After the run, the foot feels a little damp, but not nearly as wet. And the foot stays warm. However, the shoe should not be too tight, as the sock is that thick. I myself have a shoe bigger in winter than in summer. By far the best option if you don't want to run in boots!
