Test in a bucket of water and the socks are indeed waterproof. The sock is thicker and therefore a little awkward on the foot at the beginning, but when there are thin liner socks underneath that also transfer moisture outwards, the Sealskinz socks start to work after a few miles of walking. I wore socks in old and leaky hiking boots on a ice fishing trip with water on ice. Ordinary partners would certainly have pushed the matter, but the socks now tested also work that way. I look forward to the coming summer and hunting season, when the socks will be put to the real test.

An absolute must. In cross-country sneakers, socks always get wet in these conditions, whether they have goretex films or not. Water is absorbed from the ankle to the sock and from there to the entire foot. But with these socks you can even go through every puddle. After the run, the foot feels a little damp, but not nearly as wet. And the foot stays warm. However, the shoe should not be too tight, as the sock is that thick. I myself have a shoe bigger in winter than in summer. By far the best option if you don't want to run in boots!
