Big ass. I got these for a bit of a "wrong" use, i.e. as cooler winter shoes, but they work great as such (assuming you like the monotonous look cool). In the city, the shocks come through a bit from the bottom, so for endlessly long asphalt hikes, some others are better. I would assume that the sole works better in the terrain and with the range. It took some getting used to the stiffness on the ice, but you can stay upright on those. The quality seems at least excellent, no issues so far.

Comfortable and high quality shoots, I plan to keep for a lifetime. Great prompt service.

The shoes were in use for a few weeks. These are sturdy and very comfortable to tie. The leather molds to the foot very quickly. I bought shoes a couple of sizes bigger so that a thicker wool sock can fit inside. Even so, even with one thin sock, the shoe stays very firmly on the foot and does not feel too big. I managed to do one trip of about 18 km on the weekend. The terrain was uneven and snowy and it was freezing at night. Mainly there were good paths on the route, but the little one had to wade in the snow for part of the way. The shoes held up reasonably well in the snow. The leather of the shoes is very soft and there are no toe guards in these shoes. The assumption was that the leather would wear out a bit, especially at the tip of the shoe. However, I didn't expect such drastic wear and tear, which had happened during the trip. The surface of the leather was very torn at the toes of the shoes. There were also a few tears on the sides of the shoes, perhaps due to wading in the wind. After all, these are consumer goods, so the wear and tear doesn't bother me much. After waxing, the color and surface of the shoes were somewhat unchanged. There is some unevenness to the surface of the tips, but that is to be expected. If you want shoes that you can also use in your free time, I would choose a different type of shoe with harder leather. Time will tell how the shoes last in a long run. I gave "only" 4 stars due to the strong wear of the leather. However, these are very comfortable and sturdy shoes for hiking and I wouldn't change them.

Very rigid sole, that's what I wanted but it does not suit everyone.
Perfect finishes, nothing to say about the quality, it's really top of the range. Super comfortable, not too heavy.
For the size, I took the table on the Hanwag site. The one on Varuste's site is wrong. 275 mm in foot length, I took 9.5UK but I probably should have taken 10UK because my big toes sometimes touch on the descents.
The durability remains to be seen. I hope to return here in a few years and not before to say that it is good.

After wearing the shoes only very few times, a seem on one of the shoes came off. Varuste.net sent them to Germany to be fixed instead of replacing them, so the winter will probably be over by the time I get them back. Otherwise the shoes were very comfortable to wear.

6 months of use and the skins on the toes of the shoes are in great condition despite their regular flaws.
The surface of the leather is completely unsuitable for a shoe of this price level.
The stitching on the back pad of the other shoe has come undone.
The sole requires a lot of wear in the beginning so that traction starts to be found.

It took a long time to break in, but today it fits perfectly and it's good to walk. Pretty heavy shoes. The gluing of the sole failed in the winter frost, but it was covered by the warranty and the new soles have lasted. Holds water just fine if you remember to take care of it. The toe of the shoe is not reinforced, so in really rocky terrain, the leather of the toe takes a hit. However, they seem like long-lasting shoes.

Amazing Boots. I also have a pair of mountaineering boots from an Italian brand, but those are much stiffer and heavier. The Tashi’s are very light and great looking, while also feeling very comfortable on the inside. Their ball bearings are amazing and they make tightening the boots very very easy. I hope to put them to many miles (going on the TMB next summer). However, as my foot is 281mm long, I went with the size chart on Hanwag’s website, which put me at 45. I should have used Varuste’s sizing, as the boots which arrived were huge. Thus, I had to send them back (at my own cost - 37 EUR, which was pretty steep). I reordered a size 44 which fits perfectly (roomy in the toes but still tight enough with no heel lift). As for Varuste: I had never heard of them (I am ordering from Romania) and was a bit skeptical as the Hanwag Tashi’s were 150 EUR cheaper than they were anywhere else online. I read a few reviews online about Varuste and decided to go with the order. The first pair of boots (the ones in size 45) arrived within 5 days, while the second pair (the ones in 44) in 6 days. So I was very impressed with how fast and swift Varuste did the shipping. Therefore, they will me my go-to website for mountain equipment (just hope to nail the sizing)

eVery comfortable boots out of the box. Took about a week of break in to get them perfect. In a world of minimalist and lightweight synthetic boots that die after a year its great to see someone still making boots the right way and to last

Superb quality, great fit, great packaging and fast shipping. Very solid and very resistant to water, shoes to be greased well for fitting, allow a little time to adapt to this type of shoe, but you will quickly regret the time when it will no longer be on your feet. If you maintain them correctly, they must fall into the category of indestructible! I recommend, take your size.

Really robust and good quality, hardly thought you could get hold of such good quality these days. Very comfortable from the first time I put them on.
Made in Germany using old techniques, and no Gore-Tex or similar. Can probably have these for the rest of my life. You just have to change the sole in many years.

My feet are very demanding when it comes to shoes. The calcaneal bones and the spinous bones of very different sizes set the bar high for shoes. Life together with Tashi didn't start very well either. The first walk was too long and as a result the spina bifida became sore and the skin rubbed open for weeks. A fair amount of wax and kilometers under and the shoes have been shaped into the best shoes ever. Very sturdy and very water resistant. In use, the fit just gets better all the time. The lacing allows for a tightening that suits my needs. The ball of the foot is tighter and the ankle is looser. Expensive but worth every penny, at least for my feet.

These are not my first pair of Hanwag's, but they are certainly the most expensive ones. Because of my good experience with the previous Hanwag's I was pretty certain that these ones would be as super as the others. And they are! Well, a little pain at my right ancle after my first walk but that's probably because they're still a bit stiff. And they look so cool! Best looking walking shoes ever! Now I sound like a woman so I better leave it now.

Excellent hiking shoes with respect for the classic style. They fit your feet perfectly and the leather lining makes the shoes comfortable and breathable. Suitably sturdy for almost all terrain. The patterning of the sole is not the most aggressive, so I wouldn't do feats with these shoes. Usability also in the most urban conditions is of course a plus.

Too early to review properly, if possible I'll add an update after really having used these hiking boots. For what's it worth: in its first 30 miles, the shoes fit comfy, the lacing feels sturdy, as do the soles. Minor caveats: grind easily 'sticks' to soles, betters maybe after a while (?) and the same grind also quickly deteriorates the leather tips (small scratches & chips which for instance do not appear on my girl friends older Meindl shoes). We'll see...

Comfortable right out of the box. Craftmanship and materials as would be expected from hanwag - faultless. Leather really soft but supportive. Delivery arrived when stated, not bad for thousands of miles with COVID when everybody is moaning about supply lines. This arrived quicker that stuff I have ordered here in NZ. Service and product quality outstanding.

Really good looking shoes that also feel good on the foot. Drive 30 km behind and clearly the feel only improves with the shape of the foot. I chose a shoe size 8 (EUR 42) and a foot measuring 268 mm. The toes leave comfortable space and the shoe can hold a thinner wool sock in addition to the usual sock if necessary. The combination of the two socks has felt competent and comfortable to ride in (Bridgedale Liner + hiking sock). In some hiking boots, I’ve noticed that the toes are caught “on the ceiling,” but these also have room for the toes in the height direction. Experience is limited to winter conditions and perhaps due to the stiffness of the bottom, the light traffic lanes plowed in the city are a bit slippery. There is plenty of grip in the terrain, and that's what these are for.

The shoes are good. A big last for the feet, if you can buy a size that suits you. Also works when walking on snow and ice. Several tens of miles behind and the user experience improves. I can recommend if you are looking for quality and long lasting walking / hiking shoes for yourself.

One light loop until these are stacked. Very good looking product. Sole suitably rigid. The straps make the package easily fit well. The size should be carefully considered from the table and, if necessary, measured on foot. The included insole is a bit unnecessarily soft and friction under a good sock to your liking. Must try foot balance / double sock for the next kilometers.

Very comfortable boots. Well built, nice looking and functional. I have worn them daily not only in a urban setting but on small walks in snow, mud and water. Boots stay dry, warm and have held up so far.

The thick and soft jacket leather, the leather-lined padding of the handle and the highly functional ball-bearing strap tensioning system give a comfortable and high-quality feel. Fits perfectly from the toe box to my wider leg. The sole for an 80 kg man is flexible enough even for everyday walking on the city asphalt, but also stiff enough for at least the national park trail tours with a 15 kg backpack on his back. The rubber protections on the upper are missing, which makes the shoe look classically beautiful, but on the other hand makes it possible to avoid damaging at least this initially beautiful surface in bushes, rocks and ponds. With these, I plan to survive for years on most of my nature trips without carrying two different shoes for roads and trails. For hikes to wet and unpaved terrain, instead of Tashie, I choose longer-sleeved, membrane and rubber-protected shoes, where the traces of use can then be seen.

The Hanwag Tashi hiking shoe is the most comfortable hiking shoe owned. I’m excited to own this pair of hiking boots. I walked them for about 100 miles done so far, which is convincing enough that Tashi is a quality product. I can use them all day without any discomfort. The best footwear I have ever owned.

These are the best trekking boots I've ever owned! There were MEINDL, MAMMUT, LOWA and others, I don't remember which ones anymore. Hanwag Tashi are made of extremely high quality, fit perfectly on the leg, provided that the size is chosen correctly. By the way, the company strictly adheres to the size standards, so when I bought these shoes, in fact, blindly, looking only at the table with sizes, I realized that I was not mistaken with the size. The seams of the lines are neat, the gluing is perfect, the fittings are super! The foot gets used to it very quickly, after an hour you forget that these are new shoes. They are worn with comfort, and if the sock is selected according to the type of materials correctly, then the leg does not sweat, although these shoes do not have a membrane. If you wear them not in extreme mountain conditions, or in water, or on rocks, but in simple country hikes, then perhaps you will not find the best boots! There is only one drawback - the high price, but this can be experienced with this quality. Highly recommend - both the boots and the store.

This is a sublime boot. Fits my foot immidiatly. The soft wellnes inside and a solid strong boot outside is perfekt for walking in the nature.

Very comfortable shoe on the foot and does not require a very long run-in. The shoe rolls well and is not very stiff on the handle, still provides suitable support for the foot. Also tested with rain in the forest and kept the water well greasy for about half a day and then started to seep through after which the diameters were then relatively fast. However, breathes in dry weather much better than a membrane shoe. An excellent choice for dry weather, trails, cloth forest or even as a walking shoe. For wet and very difficult terrain, you should choose another shoe.

Originally it was supposed to go to the store to try on the shoes first, but now came up with a good offer so I had to hit catch. I put the wool socks on my feet and took a measure of the sole of the foot in the shoe box and, according to Hanwag’s instructions, I added a length of finger length to this. The end result was just a suitably long shoe that is spacious enough to walk on. Now, after about 100km of walking, however, the right foot has begun to squeeze from the widest point of the last. However, the left foot sits perfectly. It may be that that could be stretched a bit with a shoemaker, but let’s see how it settles now. Otherwise, it is a high-quality, full-length and long-lasting shoe without a membrane.

I have never owned better-feeling footwear for walking and "walking." Yes, the Germans can. Incredibly comfortable material inside the shoe. Very sturdy but comfortable and soft to walk on. I prefer studs with ice cream, but for most of the year these formulas do very well. A full ten!
