The replacement for the old Meindls, which served for 10+ years, fits the foot perfectly, is both sturdy and light. Tested on small gravel/forest hikes and rowing shoes. As good shoes as I expected

I ordered these in size UK10.5, i.e. 45. It still felt small even though, for example, Meindl Gufferts in the same size were quite loose. I returned it and they didn't guarantee it either, so there won't be any replacements.

At first I thought of stiffer hiking shoes, but in the end they didn't adapt to the foot. These will certainly adapt much better. The position of the heel/ankle makes me think a little, but it is definitely a challenge for my own foot and might be corrected with other insoles. I really like these shoes.

A very good brand with years of experience. My third Meindl shoes. Other models also still in use. I purposely ordered these a size larger for Finnish winter and outdoor work when wearing thicker wool socks or even two socks.

Almost perfect. The wider fit makes them very comfortable, especially the toe box is wider while the heel is securely keot in place while fitting a pair of wool socks on top of the normal socks. Tried these out in Svalbard in -20 Celcius and they do keep warm. They should really make a model of this with a proper winter outer sole though.

I've been walking in these for a couple of years now and I also sometimes wear them in winter in the city. Due to the wide last, the foot and toes do not hurt. Super comfortable to wear! The best hiking shoes I've had.

Very nice boots that worked fine until it got a little too wet and they leaked in despite continuous shoe care. But got a new pair under warranty which I'm testing now, hope they hold up to getting wet better.

Love my Meindl Meran GTX`s, fits like a slipper and are so comfortable. Conditioned and proofed right out of the box, 1 day later applied Meindl Wax, be careful if you don`t want the Mahogany color to go away, as it will. I was not a big fan of the Mahogany color and chose to darken the leather with the beeswax. Great decision on my part as the boots are now dark brown/ black in color and the patina will only get better with age and wear. The only downside is my calves and Achilles tendons getting used to the comfort fit cork footbeds. Meran GTX update; After 3 months of wearing, can`t say enough about these boots. I only wish I had purchased these boots 15 years ago, because I still would have them, with the exception of having them resoled. They are so unbelievably comfortable, it`s like a cross between wearing slippers or a glove, and I never want to take them off! Made it through the end of monsoon season here in Bangkok, dry as a bone with no leaks to report. BEST purchase I`ve ever made!!

Very comfortable on the foot, before there were many years of the kansas gtx model and this immediately feels better on the foot. A stiffer arm than the kansas model but is already used to this. Surprisingly good grip even on an icy trail. Light on the foot. Don't sweat even if you have these days in the office.

Now there is a suitably wide last and space for big toes when there is a little so-called excess toe. The sole is suitably flexible and the ankle supports the arm well. I am satisfied.

Perfect fit. Foot locks in almost like a ski-boot. Very comfortable around the ankle. Good toe room. Takes a little wearing in to induce flexibility. No blisters and very comfortable straight out of the box - as I would expect from Meindl. Tread is not aggressive - for an A/B boot it could be slightly deeper. Laces are too long and already fraying after a few wears.

The boots are for me the perfect hiking boots and they replace a previous pair of the same kind.

10 stars for service - absolutely amazing that Varuste shipped immediately and my boots arrived only 6 days later in rural Australia, especially as covid has severely interrupted other suppliers. The boots are wonderful, typical Meindl quality. They are super comfortable, both underfoot and over foot. I have a normal foot so I was a little unsure if Meindl’s Comfort Fit would be too wide, but they are perfect, they give you the best of both worlds - a bit more room around the toes, but no extra movement around the ankle. The memory foam system provides a very nice level of light pressure around the foot that feels like a hand in glove and keeps little aches and pains at bay. Although rated A/B, compared to my other Meindl A/B boots the Meran GTX are very close to the B scale. I wouldn’t hesitate to use these in light B trail hiking as they fit very securely and the sole has good resistance to twisting and has generally very good grip. I’m very happy with these boots, they’re an excellent all-round boot suitable for most everyday walks and hikes, even on some steep rocky trails with sharp and loose stones.

Great choice for basic terrain. Really good grip even on wet rock and clayey terrain. Light and very comfortable on the foot, but there is enough support (the Achilles tendon was different a year ago)

These are superbly nicely made boots. The insole is quite thick from heel to toe so if the boots feel tight, then insole can be easily replaced to a thinner one and presto, no longer tight.

Well matched the description. The width of the last was a good fit for me as a wide-legged one, with a more flexible cover better than another more rigid model from Meindl. I took a bigger size to fit the wool sock on my leg (size 40, in Meindl products usually that size 7 fits better than 6.5 if even a thin wool sock can fit on.
