The Meindl Meran GTX walking boot is designed as part of the Comfort-Fit range for hikers with slightly wider feet. Boasting 300 years of skilled shoemaking, Meindl introduced the Comfort-Fit range to provide a supportive, easy fit with an enhanced natural rolling movement.
The uppers are made from Nubuck leather with wax providing a durable exterior. Paired with a GORE-TEX lining the boot is fully waterproof and protective in all conditions. The Comfort-Fit footbed is made from cork with a cushioning fleece lining and is wider at the front of the boot in both width and height. The wider base means more surface area to stand on giving more support than the standard footbed, more capacity for movement and reduced pressure.
The Meran GTX is complete with Meindl Comfort Hiker sole guaranteeing a strong grip on a variety of surfaces. Ideal for light hikes and trails.

Thanks to the wide last, these are really good shoes for my flipper feet. The AB stiffness suits me because I mostly walk without a heavy backpack in the mixed forests of Southern Finland. The only negative observation is the slow drying, as the shoes sloshed water when crossing a body of water. My wife's Lowa Z-11S shoes dried significantly faster.

My son thinks they are good for his feet and walking is really pleasant. A big plus for the seller for helping.

Otherwise, a comfortable and light shoe but low at the toes. Returned.

Comfortable wide last and surprisingly warm, although nominally not insulated. It is still very suitable for mild frosts. Similarly hot in summer, but who would wear leather shoes with membranes then? Higher quality leather than the old 2016 model, and the membrane does not leak. The sole is flexible enough to function as a winter shoe on the street, but clearly at its best on easy, pre-trodden trails on a hiking trail. For the pathless rocky areas of central Norway at 1000-2000m, it is worth taking slightly stiffer shoes with a stone edge. The factory insole is somewhat ascetic despite its thickness, but it is nice that you can replace it with a decent orthopedic support insole, if you happen to use such. You could probably replace the thick insole with a thinner running shoe insole if you had very high arches and therefore needed a very spacious shoe.

Great light Meindl boot! The leather is very soft, suede like, but after a treatment with Meindl sportwax the leather becomes shiny and dark brown which looks great. Excellent light hiking boot for wide feet!

High-quality hiking boots. Versatile in summer and winter. The model was a little narrower than the previous Meindl (I don't remember the model), but it will adjust with use.

Basic shoes for slushy weather, the more flexible sole is also suitable for the city.
