After all, Ahkio is just a blank, which each user adjusts to suit their own needs.
I personally preferred the rope pull, so I didn't even consider the pull handles at this stage.
My tuning was largely based on Pata Degerman's YouTube instructions, albeit somewhat modified.
Pate's videos also have good information about using a hiking pole.
I ordered the RAB Pulk Bag Large, One Size bag as a companion for the bag, on top of which comes a semi-ready tunnel tent and a frost mat as a bag-sized block.
The ERAPro-ahkio is an affordable start to winter hikes. It's not forever and the best, but definitely worth the price. In my use, however, it lasts for years.
Actually, the only detail that I can think of so far where the manufacturer could improve is the implementation of the lifting handle that comes behind the box, or at least making suitable reinforcements already at the factory.
The photo does not show the elastic part of the pull rope, which I placed close to the pole, so that it goes downhill when the pull rope becomes loose, immediately under the pole to restrain it from going. In the picture, there are still two separate bags before the RAB. With the RAB bag, the center of gravity of the load can be lowered. And if the conditions require it, the whole package is still wrapped with a Tyvek cover.
The only real change I made to the original stick was by drilling four holes for attaching the rear end lifting handle.

Works as a must-have. Sensitive to falling compared to Fjellpulken's ahkio. It doesn't fit in the groove of the skis and always ends up leaning behind, and even a small bump throws the pack upside down. Also collect a lot of snow for the ride, if you can't manage to glue and rivet some fabric to the stick in the same style as what is ready in the ahkii.

The best and cheapest choice! with some craftmensshift you can build a very nice pulk which is more than enough for most expeditions.

I've used the Paris stick on a couple of overnight hikes to carry things. I was pulling things without oars with just a rope. The goods moved excellently. Even on an ice fishing trip, an ice stool and a fish finder are excellent companions. In addition, the stick fits very well in an ordinary passenger car when the back seats are turned.

Awesome stick! I just had time for a spring fishing trip to Nuuksio to try the right orange, and it pulls well and pulls well! I still have to continue tuning the stick for next winter's forest blizzards. It works well when you attach it to a sturdy backpack, you don't need a separate traction harness.

Test on the roaming course in ski touring. So not very flat. So I had to adopt for the descent by passing the sled in front. Product therefore very versatile, very compact and light. At first glance solid. With all the holes ideal for equipping it with rope and carabiner. I recommend this product and even wonder if I will not order another one...

A really good starting point for modifying and building the box. The material is light and durable and easily modifiable, but at the same time sturdy enough. Ahkio follows like a dream, although the bow flap's thrust in the snow still needs to be slightly adjusted by warming it up. And if this ever breaks down, the financial loss is not very big.

A good and cheap DIY option for hiking. The surface quality of the sole is a bit uneven, which means that you can slide better by attaching the plastic feet. Ready-made holes for the pull rope and load fastening ropes, so it's easy to equip yourself in the style you want. Also works well in children's pull.

A legendary Paris stick, what can I add to that? Or well:
Added legs, HDPE1000 20x10x1400mm pieces by heating to their shape, embedded mounting with slotted screws, nuts and cap nuts. You can find it in domestic plastic stores if you ask. Softer qualities can also be used, this stick is probably wise, but if you want wear resistance... Half a kilo more and at least three times the wear resistance. We have two of these, the second one has 1600km behind it and is still like new. Normally, another stick would have gone on that trip already in the wearable conditions.
In addition, with the hot air blower, you can carefully turn the tip up, so that the pole no longer hits the walls of the ski groove/sinks in a closed position as flatly as with its normal nose pointing down. Durability has not been affected, it has been driven against a tree with a full load and speed...
Rope pulling is the cheapest and most versatile system, if you can learn. Of course, you can go downhill faster with the H-model on straights, but the steering is a bit like this. Ristiisat spins around the pole on the side slope, of course it's more nimble to follow the ski groove. With the string, if the stick falls, or there is a break, you can move really freely. Going downhill requires a bit of practice, although it is possible to climb even challenging places with a pole by your side, guiding from the top link. In a dense forest, when you cut the string shorter, you make alpine butterflies on the pull string. The tipper has to be just the right size, so you can brake on a gentle slope and the stick won't hit the heels.
By the way, those legs bring a lot of directional stability as well, it doesn't flow down so easily on the side slope.

I would have hoped for a more finished result for the casting of the outer surface, i.e. a completely shiny plastic surface. Now the slightly porous and bumpy surface causes friction on the snow. But the ahkio was used for ice fishing, so it doesn't matter now, the situation would be a little different for hiking use.

Simple and effective design but well build. Made a towing system with 7 mm rope and foldable 13,2mm tent pole segments to form 180 cm poles as stiffeners in X configuration. Added 5 fastening straps and tested the sled in the Vosges region. Works perfect on different types of snow, impressed!

Based on a week of closed-end hiking, but without any previous experience in scavenging, I can recommend this. Pata Degerholm's instructions, equipped with a tow rope, worked excellently, in varying terrain (50/50 woodland dodging trees and direct passage in the fells / swamps) to see better than my partner's Fjellpulken. Yes, the crashing of that sledge in between caused a curse, but it also seems to be due to the packer (weight down and in the middle!) And the puller (a handleless pull style sometimes requires maneuvering with one hand). This is likely to be slightly wider than the Fjellpulken or Paljakka when measured from the outer edges, which may make pulling heavier at times, at least if you follow the trail of a narrower pit.
The price here is in a class of its own. I spent € 60 on equipment, and it would have been cheaper even if I had thought a little longer. For the sole reason that a € 130 investment will give you € 700 worth of Fjellpulken / Paljakka, I give him 5/5.

Excellent ! Not really expensive and efficient. Just have to add bungee cords, harness, carabiners Light, and easy for handling in a car.

Has already proven itself as a transport sledge for transport from the mountain station of the cable car to the mountain inn.
In need of improvement: Additionally reinforced towing eyes (not only at the front) but also desirable at the rear (for downhill transport for braking).
Not included in delivery: tow rope, cargo securing net. Overall a positive impression.

One of the lightest and easiest, most carefree ahki solutions. As a standard, it lasts approx. 800-900km of skiing in varying snow conditions, proven many times with the Vita Bandet, among others. I bought a PE1000 strip from which I made the legs, it lasted my partner's 1350km ski trip and another similar one would easily go without any problems. Really durable even when bumping. If you turned the nose upward with a hot air blower, it floats better on the snow and doesn't start to bite into the sides of the ski groove in the heavy snow. The cheapest sensible hiking pole with a cord pull and jerk removal. For this, you can make your own plastic bags, buy ready-made ones from several manufacturers, or use Ikea's Frakta zipper bags. They stay in place with a rubber cord that can be easily adjusted in place. No additional metal plate/rubber nipple tunings are needed if the loads are not too heavy for this rod. We usually have a maximum of 20-35 kg.

Durable and lightweight blank; requires a small (in my opinion comfortable) flicker in the attachment of brackets and drawbars. The edges are sharp from the factory tracks, I turned the bow with a hot air blower a little up in a closed dive with a view to diving. Price / quality in place.

Really good shopping, although not a complete package will necessarily be cheaper than the fjellpulken transporter package. Goes well on the Central Finnish forest path. It is so light that it travels on a backpack if necessary, for example in Muotka, even if the snow melts from below at the turn of May-June. Also works well for driving children and shopping in urban conditions. Unlike a children's sled, this one can accommodate an adult as well!

Good price, glides well on flat surface and is very light. Disadvantage is the bow that should be better at gliding against e.g snow barriar created by scooter. All in all I stick to this one instead of more expensive ones due to the weight.

I ordered this sled from Varuste.net as I could not find it in the UK. The sled arrived very quickly and the price was excellent. They kept me updated on the status of the order. I would definitely buy more outdoor gear from them, which I have already :-)

A do-it-yourself sling base. As a whole, you can build an incomparable travel companion at an affordable price. Shocked for the honeymooners, a drawbar system combined with a surplus tsar from the Swedish army. For fishing trips on the glacier, instead, a drawstring with a flexible piece system (= octopus bend). Worked all winter on trips and not a word of reproach. Its color is not drowning and is spacious. Travels behind the field effortlessly and without unnecessary plowing. I recommend.

Looks really good so far. I ordered a sturdy waterproof (1.5mx2.5m, 120 g / m2) nylon fabric to protect the goods and put rubber ropes to hold them in place. There is enough room for my needs (more than a backpack). I got tired of the traction system from the East German Army battle belt and fiberglass tubes according to the JR27 ahkio model. In the test, the result seems excellent. You can then see spring on a ski trip in Lapland. According to accurate accounting, the whole thing, including postage, cost € 148.10. Not bad.

Great price/performance! The sled is very robust and can easily be modified (plenty of ideas on the internet). It is not built for eternity like the fiberglass-expedition models, but they also cost ten times more! This one will last you long with proper usage and is the every-mans-sled!

You are currently correct. The product is not directly in stock, as shown on our product page.
I bought this sled at the beginning of winter, I use it for nights in a tent at high altitude, I also climb steep climbs pulling it with mountaineering skis, the only problem is that it tends to overturn but otherwise it is perfect and very comfortable to transport a lot of weight !!!!
Hi. The ERApro 60 is made from plastic with light metal tru anchor points on the edges. Product comes with no packaking.
I solved the sharp edge issue by gluing a split open hose all around. See picture. Canada.
