Good basic hiking shoes for varied terrain. In my opinion, slippers really suit the conditions of Lapland -- especially if you want to walk your own paths. For everyday outdoor activities, the shoes are naturally too bulky. The shoes fit very well and are still comfortable even after 20 km. I now bought a third pair of these same shoes, so they have been quite pleasant. In my use, one pair of shoes lasts about 9 years. I have been satisfied with the durability and service life of the shoes. My shoes are moderately hard-wearing, so wear and tear is inevitable despite good maintenance.

The shoes in question fit well and also feel comfortable and good on the feet. It is certainly good to walk longer distances. I can't say anything about wear resistance yet since it has only been used very little. I myself do day camping and fishing, so the kilometers don't accumulate, over the course of the summer.

I haven’t gotten to test the galoshes in real time yet, but they’ve started to take shape on my feet in everyday use. I wouldn’t trust Meindl’s size chart; I took a fair size larger than the normally used pops. This was a good choice. There is now room for a hiking sock and, if necessary, a sock. I treated the shoes with Wet proof and wax, at least so far have kept moisture away. More needs to be done before the final verdict, but a longer leg in the Kilpisjärvi wilderness is expected in the summer. An ancient company can make footwear. :)

Based on the first experience, a very well-fitting and high-quality shoe. I had to change my shoes to bigger ones (47 1/3), even though the shoes I ordered first (size 46 1/3) were clearly larger in number than most of my everyday shoes (size 44-45). So you should match the shoes with double socks if possible.

The old 20-year-old meindels were allowed to give way to the new ones. Feel good and firm on the foot. The ankle bone of the other foot is a little sore but doesn’t it ease after the shoes run in.

A few miles on these I have walked in varied terrain. The shoes are of high quality, the structure is suitably sturdy and fits myself well. I myself have a wide leg and my normal shoe size is 46. These shoes I took in size 47 1/3 and seem to be good with a thin sock and even two socks.

I have been using Meindl boots for years and needed to replace my last pair of Borneos. Having worn and been delighted with a number of their boots, I decided to try something new and chose the Vakuums because of the wider protective rand. My first impression was surprise at how light they are, and they seem to be as rugged as all the others. I definitely recommend them, especially if you like a lighter boot.

on the basis of less than a half a year of very good shoes. I originally bought these as a friend of the long-handled, heavy Dovre GTXs, mainly for summer and fall use, but with these, the Dovres have remained mostly snow-capped shoes in severe frosts. Vacuums have now been my main outdoor shoes, and they work virtually anywhere. Understandably, on asphalt and other hard surfaces, these are not very comfortable, but yes, there are short walks in these cities as well.

Very fast delivery to New Zealand, about 10 days. Boots are great, initially felt too narrow but after a day of wearing them around home they loosened and then a 12km hill walk and they are fine.

I have another pair of Meindl Vakuum boots and have worn them extensively on day hikes as well as 4-5 day hikes with a pack covering up to 100km over the 4-5 days. The comfort of these boots has to be experienced to be believed and yes they literally do vacuum on to your feet and in doing so provide a very good, secure, comfortable fitting boot that gives great ankle support. I have put on this new pair and worn them as it states on the label for 5 minutes to allow the inner memory foam material to shape with your body heat to your foot shape. You may then tighten up the laces.This worked very well. Initially I thought I may have purchased the incorrect sizing but after wearing once for about a 6km breaking-in-walk I found that the size and boot had adjusted and conformed to my foot shape and size. I have not tried other models in the Meindl range but have tramped extensively over the past 20+ years and have had a wide range of various tramping boots from other footwear makers. I can honestly say Meindl have been the best for me over a range of surfaces including dirt, sand and rock. Tips for use: Don't tighten up the laces too tight on the first wearing of the boots but after a decent walk, say 20 - 30 minutes, stop and tighten them up and off you go again. Use Meindl Sport Wax Clear or other wax to keep the leather (if applicable) soft and supple. Try and brush the dirt out of the boots after use. PROS: Great sturdy, comfortable, hiking boot. Value for money - you get what you pay for CONS:Expensive to buy (but worth every cent)

For comfort mostly Plus, for water resistance a long minus: Immediately fitting comfortable shoes to the foot (significantly better fit than, for example, the Island model of the same brand). Now less than 100km of driving in behind, and even longer one-time runs in demanding terrain with large loads have not caused blisters. The ankle of the other leg of the shoe weighed a bit, but the matter was corrected by using an extra insole. Certainly a very individual thing. Water resistance, on the other hand, has been a big disappointment in this Price Range and thus in new (purchased 2 months ago) shoes. Despite impregnation and waxing after walking for a couple of hours in the rain and / or wet undergrowth, the shoes on both feet absorb water at the toes / toes so that the leather of the shoes gets wet over a wide area and during the second day of hiking finally goretex lets some water through.

Really good and comfortable shoes. They felt their own already when fitted and the feel only gets better when the shoe is properly shaped on the foot. In the southern slums, it is good to drive these in for a summer trip to Lapland. Meindl shoes quality I am very satisfied. The previous ones lasted 10 years and almost ran out. I only managed to wear my shoes a couple of times in an experimental sense before the first hike, which was just over 30 km of trails and terrain with a relatively light carrying range. Keep the water in the swamp greasy and felt sturdy. There were no blisters or abrasions, although I considered such a starting point when running in new shoes. When ordering online, there is little guesswork about the shoe number, but in these the size was very similar to the domestic numbering. I didn’t buy a number bigger, as is often recommended for hiking boots, but just the size of my feet. The thin underwear sock and thinner wool sock fit well in the shoe and leave room for the toes. I have a relatively narrow leg.
