Meindl Vakuum Men GTX

My Vakuum boots arrived last week and look great. Delivery took a few weeks but that was ok. I’m looking forward to getting out on the mountain to really test them.

A top-notch hiking boot that performs well on the trail. Initially, one boot pressed against my inner ankle bone, but it quickly molded to fit comfortably with use. They have a bit of a heel, which makes the sole slightly shorter and the boot relatively agile on uneven terrain. The last suits me well; I usually wear size 42, bought that size here, and they fit perfectly. My feet are somewhat wide, though not exceptionally so (Sievi’s XL last is too wide for me). There isn't an excess of room, and they would certainly feel tight with thicker socks. The outsole offers excellent grip; I bought these as an alternative to the Lowa Z8, whose soles are quite slippery on wet roots and boardwalks. The grip might be slightly better, but I was particularly surprised by the aforementioned agility. However, one problem arose during use—though not due to the boots themselves: my plantar fasciitis flared up because of the pressure distribution caused by the boot's drop, so I unfortunately had to part with them (I didn't want to go through the hassle of experimenting with different insoles, as I already had another pair of hiking boots that didn't cause this issue).

Great fitting solid boot. First time purchasing from Varuste but will be back again. Easy, fast and accurate description of product.

Perfect and beautiful shoe for the long walk. Great quality.

Well to start with i think anyone buying from outside the EU should be advised of import tax as what I should of payed £214 for cost me £300 with the added tax.. as for the boots themselves, the look great but they are very tight fitting to the point I struggle to get 1 boot on.. rest is fine.
