Make sure you check device before you buy, some units have annoying squeaky sound when pressed on the side. Choose a good one. Annoying that metric units don't persist after turning off and on again.

Does what it promises. In the right situation, I've used sending/receiving text messages with my family and the weather forecast, and I've tested retrieving coordinates (positioning using a paper map) in practice, everything works flawlessly. Sometimes it tries to connect a little slowly.

As a whole, the device is a great communication and safety tool for covered areas. The household can remotely follow the adventure. The weather forecast has always been right. I had the device hanging around my neck on the inside of my jacket during a one-week trip to Lapland. Kept the connection well and the battery consumed about 30%, the average freezing temperature was -10 and the device shut down at night. In basic use, the user only needs to turn on the device, and the location information is transferred to the app and ends when you turn off the device.

A really small and light satellite receiver with a remarkably long battery life. At first, the user interface felt a bit stiff when you're used to smartphones, but after a little practice, it was easy to use. It was easy to add the necessary contact information and a suitable order for the subscription through the portal, and if necessary, control and sync the device via mobile apps (bluebooth connection). inReach Mini2 works reliably and messages go in both directions. A good help when I travel in places where the phone coverage is not comprehensive, so you can inform the people at home where you are going and, if necessary, help with an SOS connection, if you find yourself in a threatening situation or, for example, your car breaks down in the middle of the desert. It is also good that the subscription can be used for one month at a time.

Not yet used it on a trip but the features are perfect for my needs. Feels well made and incredibly small and lightweight for the functionality on offer. Excellent service.
