Product description
This compact satellite communicator helps you keep home with you when you’re off the grid — adding peace of mind to every adventure, without adding weight to your pack.
- Global satellite coverage keeps you connected when mobile phones can’t.
- In case of emergency, trigger an interactive SOS message to the Garmin IERCC, a 24/7 staffed emergency response coordination centre.
- Exchange text messages with loved ones back home, post to social media, or communicate inReach to inReach in the field.
- The TracBack routing feature navigates you back to your starting point the same way you came, should you get lost — right on your device.
- Expand the capabilities of your inReach device by using the Garmin Explore™ app.
- Share your location with loved ones back home at any time using your MapShare™ page or with your coordinates embedded in your messages.
- Instead of relying on mobile phone coverage, your messages, SOS alerts and location tracking are transferred via the global Iridium® satellite network.
- To access the Iridium network and communicate with your inReach Mini 2, an active satellite subscription is required. You can opt for an annual package or a flexible month-to-month plan.
- Get accurate heading information — even when you’re not moving.
- Don’t let the 4″ x 2″ size and 100g weight fool you. inReach Mini 2 is tough, durable, impact resistant (MIL-STD-810) and water-rated to IPX7.
- The internal, rechargeable lithium battery gives you up to 14 days use at the default 10-minute tracking mode and up to 30 days in power saving mode.
- Get detailed weather updates on inReach Mini 2 or a paired compatible device. You can even request forecasts for your current location or other waypoints or destinations on your itinerary.
- Get free access to the cloud-powered Garmin Explore website on your computer to plan your trips, create preset messages and quick texts, sync and manage your device settings, and much more.

Operating costs are high. There is some room for improvement in terms of usability, though the small size naturally imposes limitations.| Overall rating |
— Show originalEasy to use. During the trip, I was able to stay in touch with my worried family back home via messages, which certainly made for a more relaxed week for everyone. I also really liked the available weather forecasts.| Overall rating |
— Show originalEasy setup; pairing with the phone went smoothly. User-friendly interface. The SOS function hasn't been tested yet.| Overall rating |
— Show originalI bought it for my first long (2-week) hike in Lapland. In terms of features, it was perfectly adequate for my needs. The battery charged quickly, but initially, it also drained very fast. I ended up keeping it turned off to conserve battery life, only switching it on to send messages or check the weather. I have no idea what settings would be required to achieve that 30-day battery life.| Overall rating |
— Show originalI am really pleased with the product. During my wilderness trip, I was able to get weather updates and stay in touch with my loved ones via satellite. It connects easily to my phone via Bluetooth, making the device's compact size a real plus.| Overall rating |

Wonderful bit of kit that gives you the reassurance you need. The interface is basic but functional. The setup was easy and straightforward. Battery life is excellent as well. Thanfully I've only had to use it once and it performed beyond expectation!
