Updated version of greatly loved OAC Kar 147 ski. Designed as a combination of a Nordic backcountry ski, telemark/touring ski, and snowshoe, the KAR 149 provides unmatched versatility and is a backcountry one-ski quiver.
Its broad width and steel edges make it equally at home on any type of snow, from hardpack to powder. Thanks to its short length, the KAR is super agile, allowing for turns in even the gnarliest of bushes and forests.
The best selling ski comes now with revolutionary patented Unicoat technology. Unicoat is a tough and easy to care ski base construction, which we have invented. the use of latest composite materials, manufacturing methods and extensive field testing has resulted this tough and easy to maintain base. is base absorbs the liquid waxes, so you can forget about the hot iron and time consuming waxing procedure. Unicoat base is very durable but in case of damage really easy to repair.
The KAR UC has an integrated skin, which is recessed to the base. Because of the skin’s shape & the high quality skin we use, the ski is competent even for freeride skiing at any slope you nd. If you like bit smaller dose of adrenalin, you can slower the speed by leaning back and taking the ski of from the fall line. is makes backcountry access possible also for beginners & recreational skiers. By having the recessed, permanent skins you can forget grip wax problems and hassle with packing the skins. Skiing uphill with KAR’s is easy. Assembled with our OAC EA binding, it is easy to use with almost any shoes available. Just step out your door, grab your KAR’s and enjoy the ride.

— Show originalNicely fitting and easily adjustable bandage. A good, big enough grip to be able to climb the slopes. The steel edge makes it easier to walk at intersections and hold sideways.

— Show originalThese are especially nice to move around even in a dense forest when the weather is right! They slip on the spring coat. The ties come off easily from my own shoes, so I sometimes have to reattach them.
I am happy with the sliding snowshoes, and that I chose these instead of the shorter model. These carry a 50 kg user well, but in some places the ski can sink into the snow (the ski is designed to lift off the snow easily).| Overall rating |

— Show originalTried up the hill today, complete satisfaction. Tried it on the black slope Stoh in Špindlerův Mlýn. The descent on the slope was more difficult because of the ice, but on untreated snow of 10/20 cm it was no problem, they held the feet quite well, but it would be good to think of something to fix the heel, but from on my side sufficient skis light and controllable up the hill without any problems and the use of one shoe.

Easy to move, agile in turns and the fur base seems to hold pretty well on gentle climbs. The top ties could have slightly larger holes, could be locked with e.g. a thin "wire lock", so that it wouldn't go astray at the sausage roasting place?Brand
