The Defence 4 is the most popular and best-selling all-round sleeping bag with excellent weight to stuff size and performance ratio. It is a well-established, 3-season sleeping bag that has proven to be 100% reliable on cold nights both in the wilderness and in snow caves. A protection flap on the outer side of the zipper keeps out wind and wetness.
The outer shell is a super-light, highly resistant, microfibre nylon with a fine microporous coating which makes it water-repellent. There is a generous draft tube on the inside of the zipper to prevent heat loss at the zipper.
Isolation: G-LOFT Duro, 100% PES Outer: 145G/m², Inner: 145g/m²
Outer shell: Shellproof (100% PA + PU Coating)
Inner lining: Shelltrans (100% PA)

Warm enough, but I would have liked thé outer shell tot be thicker. Have not tried it yet in really cold conditions.

A very good sleeping bag. I bought an L-sized bag and it fit my 190-centimeter frame very well, and there is still room at the end of the leg to dry and warm things. Placing the zipper in the middle of the bag is really smart because it works for both right- and left-handed people. The zipper is also very smooth and reliable, and the bag can only be opened by gently pulling on the edges of the bag. This is an important feature for me because I want a bag that opens immediately and without complications if I'm in a hurry for one reason or another. By adjusting the zipper, the bag can be comfortably ventilated in the summer or when staying indoors.
Tested in a T-shirt and boxers in -8.5 degree frost and +16 degree indoor accommodation and in both I slept like a bear in its nest. The bag breathes incredibly well. The only slightly disturbing thing is the position of the Hood's clamps, they want to hang right at the mouth when the Hood is pulled up, but you get used to this too.
I was torn between this and the more expensive down sleeping bag, but in the end I chose this one because it can be washed in the machine without the filling getting completely ruined, and this is a much cheaper option. Carinthia Trope is coming here as a friend, so she can handle even worse frosts.
In summary, a very good value for money package. You can definitely find lighter sleeping bags, but you can't get them cheaper with the same features.

Amazing sleeping bag. Easy access to get in and out and regulate temperature. The compression bag that comes with it is very good, no need to buy additional gear for it.

Excellent sleeping bag. What it loses in down bags with the corresponding heat classification in weight and size, it wins in carefreeness and reliability. Found to be excellent and feels airy and comfortable to wear. It also goes with you in the summer, mostly as a blanket, and if necessary, it can withstand the cold with a good sleeping pad, well below freezing.
