The size classification of the sock XL is too loose for a size 42-43 foot. Apparently a size L would have been more suitable. The size error on my part was due to the fact that the Mares Classic (3mm) size XL that I had previously purchased was a snug fit for a size 42-43 foot. The sock is comfortable and the seams are good

If you are thinking between two sizes, take the smaller one. Easy to put on and take off. Keeps your toes warm, at least when swimming in the summer.

They are really comfortable to wear and the size was just right for my foot. Thanks to the hot summer, the water has been really warm and I have been able to swim long distances without a wetsuit, but I have always put socks on. So I use these for open water swimming. It makes it easier to walk on the beach, which you don't feel, when they have protected your feet. At first, they are really hard to put on, but you will soon find a good technique and maybe after use they will give in a little. Not much water gets in, which is annoying, just as it should. I recommend it!
