Tested it for a couple of days now on various snow conditions. The crown pattern grip worked well on all the snow conditions I tried. The ski has quite a bit of camber that feels good under foot. It has a good kick. Thou in deeper really soft snow the tip doesn’t have as much floatation as I hoped for, it feels like the camber keeps the ski slightly under the snow and the rocker profile is not enough for flotation. Tips that could float in soft snow was my motivation to buy a wider ski, so I am a little disappointed on that part. But in semi soft and harder conditions I have been very satisfied, and honestly that is mostly what the snowpack usually. My partner has the Fischer e109 that is much softer and the tips float much better, but instead lacks some in directional stability. It is hard to get everything in one ski. The skis are light weight which is very nice and helps to balance out the ridiculous weight of almost all backcountry boots with the outdated heavy weight of the Rottefella BC outsoles and bindings. Xplore system would be preferred on a ski like this. I have the short skins which I think are enough for almost all uphill conditions for this type of ski, except for hauling heavy loads behind you.

excellent skis for my use, a good choice :) can even go down a ski slope. Even without hair, you can go up some kind of hill. Can ski almost like on butt skis. Versatile use.

The 88 Crown is very easy to control. I also own skis with widths of 68 and 125, and each has its own unique characteristics that make them fun to use.
