I bought these for my military service, and they lasted the entire year without any issues! They keep feet dry effectively, whether by the coast or in the swampy conditions of a Finnish late winter/early spring; naturally, Gore-Tex tends to trap sweat, but with a good double-layer merino sock setup, my feet stayed warm—except perhaps in the dead of winter. Size 41 1/2 fit my feet perfectly right from the moment I first tried them on. They provide good support for your stride during long periods of use and heavy loads, while their lightweight design ensures you aren't burdened by unnecessary extra weight. After about four months of daily use and regular maintenance, the black color began to fade slightly. The soles have held up relatively well, though with heavy use, I wouldn't expect them to last more than two years at most. The soles don't offer the best grip, either; you have to tread quite carefully on rocky or wet terrain.

The fit was perfect for me; otherwise, they feel like walking in a pair of favorite sneakers, yet they are stable and provide good support. I haven't yet tested how the Gore-Tex performs in the rain.
