Product description

Building on the foundation of the Quest this iconic boot is now available in a HIGH variant. When your operation takes you into the most rugged terrain, the QUEST 4D FORCES 2 HIGH GTX EN gives you the added support and grip of a mountain boot, but still has the flexibility to take a knee or sprint to position in tough conditions.

An anti-debris mesh material combined with full grain leather creates a particularly robust and flexible non-reflective outer surface. The underlying GORE-TEX membrane makes the boot an ideal companion in all kinds of weather. The 3D rubber toe cap and rubber heel cup protect the foot from shocks and ensure high comfort on gravel or in pathless terrain. The SensiFitTM system cradles the foot from the midsole to the classic lacing system to provide a secure, precise and almost customized fit. The inside of the boot is reinforced with an additional material to support climbing and fast rappelling.

The most important feature of a multi-functional tactical boot is, of course, the highly technological sole construction. In addition to the anti-puncture Enigma Zero HT2 insert and anti-static technology, Salomon has also opted for a tried-and-tested combination, with the Contagrip MD outsole for sure-footed grip in mountain terrain, the 4D chassis for walking stability and the EnergyCell midsole for optimum damping and performance. Finally, an OrthoLite inlay sole ensures a comfortable fit and additional damping in the boot, while perforations in the sole support a pleasant foot climate.

The QUEST 4D FORCES HIGH GTX is undoubtedly one of the most advanced and versatile tactical boots on the market. It combines stability and protection with a lightweight design for all situations.
  • GORE-TEX Membrane: Gore-Tex TOF Membrane (Technical Oriented Fabric) Footwear for Professionals
  • Anti-debris Mesh: Tight mesh that prevents debris from being trapped between your foot and the footbed
  • Single layer Mesh: A single layer of Mesh, close to the foot, for maximum feel
  • Nubuck Leather: Cow Nubuck Leather of 2.0mm thickness. Quality full-grain leather material for longer wear and durability
  • Water Repellent: A special treatment is applied to provide extra protection, ensuring that the fabric does not absorb water during light rain and showers
  • Non-reflective materials: Built to be discrete and non-reflective for Tactical use
  • Closed hooks: For tactical use, these closed hooks reduce the risk of snags from ropes, etc.
  • Lace Locker: A locking eyelet between the forefoot and ankle eyelets that locks the laces in place, enabling independent and precise adjustment
  • Lace Pocket: Tuck the excess lace and the buckle up inside the pocket on the tongue of the shoe
  • Regular laces: Traditional lacing system with eyelets
  • SensiFIT: SensiFit cradles the foot from the midsole to the lacing system, providing a secure, snug and virtually customized fit all around the foot
  • Gusseted Tongue: The tongue is connected to the upper on both sides, preventing debris from entering the shoe, and keeping the tongue centered
  • Medial Protective Pad: A durable, cushioned pad across the medial side of the instep for protection and increased wear
  • Protective Toecap: 3D Toecap construction out of Rubber
  • Protective mudguard: A wrap of leather, synthetic or rubber around the base of the foot that protects the lateral and medial sides of the foot
  • 4D Chassis Midsole: A stable chassis construction that harnesses two different midsole components to provide maximum foot control and active comfort
  • Dual Density Midsole: Combining foams with two different densities, this midsole provides superior cushioning, stability, and motion control
  • Energy Cell: A high performance EVA foam that provides shock attenuation (55C)
  • ENIGMA ZERO HT2 Anti Puncture Insert: Woven, 3.9mm thickness and non-metallic. A layer of puncture-resistant material added to the outsole prevents sharp objects from penetrating the bottom of the shoe
  • OrthoLite Insole: Ortholite insoles provide step-in comfort and enhanced durability, breathability, moisture and odor control using a combination of special PU and rubber
  • Contagrip MD Outsole: Contagrip MD is focused on long-term wear. Using the most durable compound, it has a lug pattern that works equally well on both hard and smooth or soft and loose surfaces
  • Anti Static: The EU standard stipulates that antistatic footwear should be worn to prevent electrostatic build-up and ensure it is discharged effectively

Works well on uneven ground, supports the ankles especially well

Sturdy shoe, fit well. Can be used both in swamps, forests and on asphalt. The bad rating is due to the shoe's short lifespan: after less than three months of use, the rubber coating/reinforcement tore up to the stitching from the fabric at the back of the ankle. The damage occurred in both shoes. The warranty worked and the money was returned.

Great shoes once they wore in. Fit well, are warm when paired with Merino wool socks. Definitely worth it.

The shoes look good after a couple of uses. A little heavier than my previous shoes. Good waterproofing in marshland.

The boots will hold your leg tight and these are very comfortable. Not so waterproof than leather boots but waterproof spray helps a little bit. If you have wide leg like me i needed to order a number bigger than usual.

Stiff, works well in the forest. The strap tension is tight.

Good shoe. Really sturdy, grippy sole, keeps water out, great toe protection and additional protection for worn parts, e.g. for hunting or somersault activities. I replaced the xa forces 8” with these and my own comparisons below; QUEST BENEFITS: + more rotationally rigid base and stem than XA, which provides additional support for e.g. camping/forest and uneven terrain +warmer than xa forces. With Toxa I went up to -15 without problems and these should go below -20 + better toe protection and "more durable feeling" than xa +- buckles on the ankle, I can't get anything out of them myself, but they don't hurt either. In favor of the Salomon XA: - xa forces more comfortable in summer in temperatures over 10 degrees - xa forces more sock-like on the foot - xa lighter - xa forces has a better webbing pocket - narrower design in xa Both good slippers, but for hunting/camping I would take the quest for stiffness and sturdiness, and for tactical tasks I would take the xa, of course both will do. //Henkka
