Product description

Inner tent made from mesh for fantastic ventilation when you are camping in warm/tropical conditions. Perfect when you want to feel the cool evening breeze and still be protected from unwelcome insects – the extremely fine mesh stops even the tiniest bugs from getting in. Can also be used together with the tent models Abisko Dome 2 and Keb Dome 2 when you camp in warm, humid climates. In addition, it can be used by itself in warm and dry conditions, or together with a tarp if there is any possibility of rain. Tent floor in 70D PU-coated polyamide protects from damp ground. Complement with 2-4 Person Inner Tent Pitch Kit when being used separately or with a tarp. The poles from Abisko Dome 2 and Keb Dome 2 can be used, but if you only have the mesh inner tent you will need a set of poles in the Abisko Dome 2 Pole Kit (art. 55019) or the Keb Dome 2 Pole Kit (art. 55024).
  • All-mesh inner tent for camping in warm/tropical conditions.
  • Gives outstanding ventilation in tropical environments and humid climates.
  • No-see-um mesh fabric keeps even the smallest, barely visible insects out.
  • Tent floor in 70D polyamide, PU-coated 10 000mm.
  • Can be used on its own, under a tarp or together with Dome 2 tent models.

Overall, the mesh inner tent for the Keb dome 2 is a worthwhile purchase. All the vents, doors and attachment tabs line up nicely with the tent fly once the solid body has been removed. The mesh inner has side pockets for storage just like the solid body and also has an overhead mesh storage shelf which is a nice touch. Additionally, the mesh inner floor comes up a full 4 inches with waterproof material just like the solid body, keeping the sleeping area dry. Switching between inner tent bodies is time consuming, mostly because (if you have the footprint) the very bottom ring is supposed to take both the footprint and tent body tab, which isn't large enough to easily hold both. I ended up hooking the footprint to the braided cord that attaches to the bottom ring. I think that adding four additional rings where the footprint and tent body attaches would be helpful. The ventilation that is created by the mesh body makes this tent more versatile and improves an already great product. This has become my go to tent for all water sport adventures where a boat carries the weight. I do think it is much too heavy for backpacking though. Maybe that's just my age showing..
