Timeless, long, trekking jacket with insulating lining for those who appreciate a little extra warmth on winter adventures. The torso is lined with a soft, high-loft mesh, while the arms have nylon lining with synthetic padding for low friction against clothing worn under. The outer fabric is durable G-1000 Original with extra durable G-1000 HeavyDuty over the shoulders and the lower back. This allows the jacket to provide protection against the wind and rain, and moisture that builds up inside when you move about is ventilated out – which is important in cold climates where you do not want to risk getting cold because of damp base-layer garments. Generous cut with plenty of room for insulating garments underneath, and a bellow pleat at the back gives extra freedom of movement. A spacious hood with a foldable brim protects against bitter winds and can be adjusted so it fits the head perfectly. The removable synthetic fur edging on the hood provides extra protection against falling snow. The two-way zipper can be opened from the bottom for ventilation, and a wide protective flap stops cold winds. Many pockets offer practical storage for items needed close at hand; including the spacious vertical chest pockets with zippers, with outer pockets on top of them with flaps. There are also two lower pockets that are top loaded, an inside pocket and a sleeve pocket with a zipper for a GPS or the like. Drawcord adjustments at the waist and hem and Velcro adjustments at the sleeve cuffs. The jacket can be impregnated with Greenland Wax for added protection against wind, rain and wear.

— Show originalReally functional and warm jacket for winter. Not as thick as many other Fjällräven winter parka, but goes even in severe frosts by modifying the entire full middle layer. -20’C weather t-shirt, thick sweater and this jacket was still comfortable.
I wear L-size in general (181/90) and in this jacket L was perfect.

The winter had already passed a bit for this year, so the frost experiments were limited, but yes with this windy -10 weather it turned out quite nicely without thick interlayers. This is a decent winter jacket, although it is not the thickest end of Fjällräven and I would at least recommend this rather than thicker models, at least if you are going to move a little or not quite in the cold. The size is so fair that even in the harshest frosts, it is possible to dress thickly. And the good thing about moving is that the jacket would seem to breathe pretty well.
The S-size is not short at all for the slim 180-centimeter, but even for the length of the sleeves and hem, and the jacket is loose anyway. The back hem comes just below the mid-thigh, so it’s a surprisingly long jacket.
There is no actual breast pocket, as other commentators mentioned, but at least my jacket has a pocket inside the lower hem.
The collar is high, which makes it a bit more difficult to use without a hood, but on the other hand increases the thermal value of the jacket if you can close the zipper all the way up. The hood from the collar works well and the hood can be made into a tight tunnel.

— Show originalStrong jacket! Seems good quality. I chose my normal size (M) smaller (s) because the size dimension is quite fair. Quite a good choice for outdoor activities and a mobile lifestyle. The hood and collar provide good protection and have space and adjustment possibility. On the downside, a zipper that is difficult to use and quite small buttoned chest pockets. The inside barge would also be nice, it's missing. Anyway, I recommend!Brand
