The Oregon 750 handheld provides comprehensive navigation and tracking to guide you on and off the beaten path, using GPS and GLONASS plus ABC (altimeter, barometer and compass) sensor capabilities. The built-in altimeter provides elevation data to accurately monitor ascent and descent, while the barometer can be used to predict weather changes by showing short-term trends in air pressure. The 3-axis electronic compass keeps your bearing, whether you’re moving or not. There’s also a TracBack® feature on Oregon 750 to help you navigate back to your starting point the same way you came. You can also mark locations, such as your campsite, vehicle or other points of interest, to which you'd like return navigation.

BaseCamp displays on your computer screen any topographic map data stored on the device, including contour lines and elevation profiles. It also can transfer an almost unlimited amount of satellite images to your device from the included BirdsEye Satellite Imagery subscription.

— Arată originalulL-am cumpărat pentru a înlocui GPS-ul meu anterior Garmin din seria 60, care începuse să funcționeze și să se blocheze. În propria mea utilizare principală, dresajul câinilor de urmărire, cel mai important lucru este repetabilitatea cea mai precisă a căii, iar aceasta funcționează la fel de bine ca și dispozitivul meu excelent din seria 60. Nu fac geocaching, așa că caracteristicile aferente sunt inutile pentru mine.
Cel mai rău lucru la dispozitiv este durata mizerabilă a bateriei. Deși încerc întotdeauna să-l încarc chiar înainte de a-l duce în mediul rural, după doar câteva ore nivelul de încărcare a scăzut la minimum. În călătoriile mai lungi, nu îndrăznesc să-l țin tot timpul pornit, îl aprind doar când simt că am nevoie și nu folosesc deloc camera. Bateriile de rezervă trebuie să fie la tine în permanență.
Cu Bluetooth, dispozitivul se împerechează cu Garmin Connect, dar Basecamp și Express par să necesite un stick usb, nu funcționează cu BT sau prin wifi. De fapt, nu mi-am putut da seama pentru ce ar putea fi folosit nici măcar aici (wifi-ul funcționează de la sine, adică găsește rețeaua, dar acele software-uri proprii Garmin se sincronizează doar prin rețea??)
În rezumat: Un dispozitiv care altfel ar fi bine, dar durata proastă a bateriei face să fie păcat. Puțin prea multe caracteristici în detrimentul funcționării fiabile. Camera nu are rost, mai ales la folosirea ei consumă și mai mult bateriile, așa că acum aș cumpăra un model mai accesibil fără cameră.| Evaluare generală |
