Meindl Burma Lady PRO MFS GTX

Looks better on the foot than in the pictures. Tested them by walking in a lake for water proofing and had no issues. I tried all the Meindl boots in the shop, cheaper or more expensive, multiple from same model but these felt the most comfortable for my narrow feet and actually these were the only ones that had no cosmetic/construction problems. Not one of the Meindl boots pair looked exactly the same, either outer sole was glued on different hight or position, either glue was visible and not as neat as made in Germany should have been. I have had many Meindl boots made in Germany and they were all perfectly made but seems like recently they significantly dropped the quality but not the price. Burma Lady is made in Italy and they are as perfect as boots in this price range should be! Very happy I had the opportunity to see, choose and try them on.

Difficult to get ladies walking boots in colour other than brown - so delighted with black boots. Comfortable , lighter than expected and fully waterproof. A great boot.

Tukevat ja laadukkaat kengät. Istuu hyvin jalkaan ja suojaavat nilkkaa epätasaisessa maastossa. Jalat eivät väsyneet noviisillakaan päivävaelluksella näissä kengissä. Olen ollut kaiken kaikkiaan todella tyytyväinen. Ei harmita, että tuli valittua aiemmin suunniteltua tukevammat kengät.

My pair turned out not to be waterproof. It leaked after a 2-hour walk through wet grass. I have to return the product, although first I liked it in general. The boots look compact and much better than on the picture. They are quite comfortable for my narrow foot. Although very (maybe even too) firm and heavy, they fixed the ankle pretty well when I was climbing up or going down steep slopes. The laces are of a good quality. But lacing and unlacing take time, of course (all these hooks, you know - btw, you should learn how to lace this type of boots correctly). The soles tend to take up too much mud, and it is not easy to clean it from there as the soles are fluted. I did not have a chance to check out how slippery the boots are in winter, but they were good on wet grass in autumn. Considering this all, I would not want the same model again even if they were waterproof as declared. In general, my previous pair, which was Lowa, left better impressions.

This is my second pair. The first pair lasted 4 years. I normally find Meindl fit really well but this pair seems to be slightly narrower in the width.

This is my sixth pair - fantastic boots: fully waterproof, great grip and extremely comfortable with the MFS system. They look good too in the Azure colour. Actually my big size 8 feet look small! No doubt I’ll be buying a seventh pair when these wear out!
