Proper care of rubber boots can extend their life and keep them in good condition.

1. Clean regularly
Wipe the rubber boots regularly with a clean, damp cloth to remove dirt and mud. You can also use a soft brush.
If the boots are particularly dirty, rinse them with water before wiping.

2. Always dry the boots properly
Make sure the rubber boots are completely dry before storing them. Moisture can cause the boots to become brittle and form nasty mold.
Do not dry the boots in direct sunlight, as this can dry out and embrittle the rubber. If your rubber boots have loose insoles, remove them and let the insoles dry freely. If the boots are very wet and it feels like they won't dry at all, there are special equipment suitable for drying boots, such as large silica-filled footwear drying bags and electric boot/shoe fans/dryers.

3. Avoid heat and sunlight
Do not store rubber boots in direct sunlight or near heat sources such as radiators or stoves as the heat can damage the rubber.

4. Use a protective spray / rubber conditioner
You can use a protective spray/rubber conditioner intended for rubber boots, which helps protect the rubber from moisture and sunlight. At the same time it keeps the material lubricated, elastic and good with which you can prevent the material from cracking in those parts that are subjected to heavy stress during use.

5. Store properly
Store the rubber boots in a cool and dry place, preferably in an airy space at a constant temperature.
If necessary, you can also use some kind of rack arrangement to hold the boots, which prevents the boots from sticking together.

6. Check the condition of the boots
Regularly check the condition of the boots. If you notice any holes, cracks or other damage, repair them as soon as possible, for example using a special rubber boot repair agent. On organic/ natural rubber the same repair methods as repairing the inner tube of your bike applies. For mixed materials, Aquasure, etc. a similar products from another manufacturer works really well.

7. Wear those boots
Regular use of rubber boots (...and proper maintenance) helps keep them flexible and reduces the risk of the rubber hardening.

8. Change the insoles if necessary
Changing the insoles from time to time may help maintain the comfort and support of the boots. Fresh insoles guarantee the comfort of the boot.

9. Avoid strong wearing
You can't completely avoid this if the boots are heavily used, but be aware that constant strong rubbing and friction between the soles of the boots and the hard ground wears the soles faster.
