The Haute Route is undoubtedly the most famous glacier trek in the Alps. Crossing the glaciers and high passes between Chamonix (F) and Zermatt (CH), this outstanding week-long expedition is a wonderful way to explore the prestigious massifs of Mont Blanc and the Valais. Accessible from June to October, the traverse between the two capitals of the Alps, staying in mountain huts and hotels, is at the borderline between hiking and mountaineering.
