Mähöne Boxer

Mähöne Brothers was founded in 2010 but we first got the idea of making underwear already in 2002. The road to actual production was longer than we expected. Brown and yellow was the obvious first choice of colors for us (we often wondered why it hadn't been done before), but at the same time very strange to underwear manufacturers around the world. We also had difficulties in finding a reliable manufacturer. Some of the ones we approached didn't take us seriously (didn't even reply to our contact requests) and others produced unacceptable quality. However, in the beginning of 2010 we found a manufacturer in Asia that felt like the right one from the very beginning. Sometimes you just know. We travelled to visit them in January and saw all the work they had done in previous years.

Most of the premium quality underwear are manufactured from cotton/elastan combination with the weight of 145g/m2. We wanted to top that, so we handpicked a 160g/m2 fabric for our first order.  We also handpicked the waistband which was  the toughest and also the roughest material. We were ready give up some unnecessary softness in order to improve our waistband's endurance. Have you ever noticed that if you buy premium quality underwear with a soft waistband it doesn't last very long. After a dozen washes or so the waistband loses its form.

Today we feel that we were successful with this product. The quality has generated some good feedback, but the color combination sometimes arouses mixed emotions. Our first model was released in the fall of 2010.
