CAUSEWAY series poles handle the most extreme conditions - expedition, mountain and ski. CAUSEWAY series are available in the longest length and have the sturdiest, most reliable locking mechanisms. The Helinox GL145 uses the groove lock adjustment system.

Groove Lock Preventing the unpredictable collapse of poles fitted with friction lock devices has been an ongoing challenge for a very long time. After extensive testing and research, the Helinox R&D team determined that poles subjected to the heaviest loads could NOT rely solely on friction devices alone. The unique Helinox Groove Lock system was developed to add mechanical locking to frictional resistance and provide an enormous increase in holding power. GL models have mechanical stops (grooves) every 5 cm to mechanically 'lock' the adjustment for ultimate holding security where heavy loads apply
