Reliable tool, but read the user guide.
A bit slow, but fortunately there is no rush during the hike.
It's quite slow to load the map. Similarly, planning routes on a Mac is clunky and slow. A better map to Finland would cost more. The user interface is also very old-fashioned and clunky. But yes, this goes for the purpose I bought it for, i.e. you can locate yourself if you get lost on the map.
Functional basic GPS, requires learning and functions are enough as in all Garmin devices, but it also enables e.g. the downloading and editing of comprehensive cycling maps.
Batteries are good if you're really stuck in the woods/at sea somewhere and want to be sure that the device works, although it's worth investing in lithium batteries if you're moving in winter, they withstand the cold better.
Now a very good device works
Worked flawlessly for a couple of years.
A good stick for the hobbyist. There are different types of equipment for long hikes. This is a real help and the price is not too high either.
good quality product, clear function
I got a great price and delivery from Varuste.net for this item. It's my 4th handheld GPS from Garmin.
It works and if you want light, small and fits in your pocket, this is good.
A small screen, but a functional device
Battery life is good. The map is a little slow to update the view. The operating system requires learning and getting used to it, but there are a lot of commendable features.
Works. The user interface is a bit old and for example a key lock would be almost necessary. However, it works just fine if the map, compass and navigation skills fail you
Small enough to carry around easily. The map update is sometimes slow if you scroll longer distances / there is a lot of information on the map, but it works well for all kinds of activities, from boating to hiking.
Handy little hand-held GPS with excellent maps from Maammittausliatos.
Good product and works like the famous “train toilet”
Easy-to-use, clear display, Terrain Map of the National Land Survey
A handy touring navigator that is a handy companion on National Land Survey maps.
Perhaps the best value for money handheld GPS! Works like a train toilet and positioning works regardless of the weather. I wouldn't go to Kaira alone without this.
The product meets its description. Slightly slow, but does not hurt in practice. Works smoothly as long as you notice that it is not a touch screen device. Nice little and yet the screen shows what is needed.
Not all features of a working device have been tested yet. Accurate positioning fits the right size / weight in your pocket
The eTrex 32x has been used extensively in hiking and laundry. Something in the software of my device is wrong, because I can only search from 4 European countries (which did not belong to Finland). The searches on the map of the Finnish National Land Survey do not work. Battery life good.
Very good. Based on a short user experience, I am pleased with my purchase.
High quality and functional GPS device. I bought it for cycling and hiking and so far I have only used it for cycling. In this, this is quite a great closet. Especially if you have pre-loaded your route on the memory card. For I think the movement of the map is due to a tangled slow-loading map. When transferring your own tracks to the memory card, the file name must be preceded by "Trace_". That is, for example, "Track_Cycle.gpx". Otherwise, it will not be found on the device.
For one reason, I remove it because that map scrolling is tangled, albeit functional nonetheless. As well as the fact that when the device is turned on, gps recording will start immediately. When cycling, you must always remember to reset the track data at the beginning so that there are no unnecessary times, etc. I am used to turning on the run manually. And fitness types for information! If you download your performance to Garmin Connect, you won't get any information about this product in the Connect record section. This has been bitterly felt and confirmed by Garmin Customer Service that this device handles data differently, like Garmin fitness products.
I bought this with the National Land Survey map package. And here is the default property boundaries that I still haven’t been able to take out of sight. These property boundaries give a confusing overview of the map. So I've used Garmin's own map template and it's quite valid and clear. Some random small paths are missing compared to the National Land Survey map.
In cycling, the good can't get lost
The map loads a bit slowly. Easy to use.
I have had a few times testailla device. Really good what I have tried so far. You can store in it, for example, a place you have fallen in love with, for example, hiking or cycling and want to come again, but you are not sure if you remember how to return. You just save the location to the GPS device so you can find the location again. Convenient! It's really easy to use. At the beginning of the operation knob hesitant when I myself have always liked you browse directly to the screen. But I'm really surprised that I liked. Has not disturbed any, on the contrary. I can really recommend this device even though I still be able to use all of it mut so far what I've used have been really good. GPS also shows your exact location. +++++
A game that works after just over 2 weeks of trial.
Maps load a little slowly when you zoom in.
The use needs to be learned a little not terribly logical.
Good for geocaching and occasional hiking.
I bought the device mainly for geocaching and secondarily for hiking. I've been using the device for geocaching now a couple of months, and I am very satisfied. Especially in this winter time, I appreciate the hard "joystick" controller, and the device can handle even thick gloves in the hand relatively easily. A light and confident gadget, as I wanted. Geocache data can be easily transferred from a computer to a device via USB.
The recipient was satisfied with the device. The basic functions are easy to install and use. The device is versatile and includes many different functions that can be learned as needed
A handy device for the outdoor traveler when you are in unfamiliar terrain. "Browsing" the map is cumbersome due to the slowness of the device.
Very good and reliable device based on short experience. The downside is that the device has so many (too many) different functions that it takes time to learn them. I don't even need them for the use I get the device for. With this device alone you can't move in the terrain, but with the map very well. This will be able to locate and verify a point on the map if you are unsure of where ever it is. The device had an old Terrain Map of Finland, which is missing the latest information and I haven't updated it yet, so I don't know if updating is easy and simple.
So far, the device has worked well and also from a well-functioning compass, Plussa. The terrain maps of Finland that came with them were not the latest, but fortunately you can download the latest versions online.
A good handGPS that survives in the woods, but using the map when zoomed is a bit slow.
The device is easy to use and looks durable. In addition, it is easy to customize the device to suit your personal needs by adjusting the various settings. The connection to the satellites is really fast. Transferring and using gpx files on your device is smooth.
Excellent and very accurate GPS for off-road use. One star leaves the device in slow motion. Downloading and routing maps takes time.
Battery life with nickel batteries is good. In my own terrain, one pair of batteries lasts for about two days. Also a plus for the possibility of using ordinary batteries.
I recommend it if you need a reliable GPS device for off-road use. Personally, I also use this when cycling. ETrex devices are not suitable for car use.
Garmin's own map is surprisingly useful. The Terrain Map that came with the memory card was at least incorrectly installed on the card I received, but I would have updated it anyway.
Good size. Easy and highly customizable menu. In some places, there are too many functions that can be conveniently hidden. Accuracy is commendable as is the case with rechargeable batteries.
Really handy and smashing accurate device. However, the maps of the National Land Survey of Finland load slowly.
Rigid interface, but in the main, that is, staying on the map is really good
Operation requires learning, between jumping through menus and downloading materials seems to take a long time, but well rotates maps! The buttons and joystick I think definitely have a better interface than the touch screen, meaning you can really wear even wet gloves in your hand!
The device itself is really convenient and reliable. Very pleased. However, in the age of touch screens, you have to do a little work on the joystick and buttons.
BUT that MML Terrain Map option is one of the strangest things of the 21st century. I haven't really seen an "update" system for this since 1998. I don't even dare to download the entire update from that shelf page. So you have to go on the old Finnish map.
