I bought these boots because they don't have a membrane and I needed something to wear in hot and dry climate. Not as cool and well ventilated as I hoped, but that is due/thanks to the comfortable padding. Good grip and very rigid so they support the foot well. A bit time consuming to tie - hooks like the ones Lundhags use are much quicker. Will soon try them out "for real" in hot & dry but so far I have only had them in Swedish winter/spring weather.

3rd pair of these boots I’ve owned and will definitely keep coming back. Super comfortable and sturdy.

The construction of the boot is excellent, however I have found over the last couple of months of use I find the plastics used in the boots to be very stiff, the foot is naturally flexible however the boot doesn't lend itself to aid in that movement, and the boot I find is too heavy, a military style boot needs protection in the toes, ankles and heels which the quest 4D provides but without the flexibility, it doesn't combine well with the movement of the foot it almost acts as a separate entity to the foot, this boot would be great over rocky terrain, like you might find in Norway some parts of the the Falklands or the mountains of Afghanistan. But an all round combat/military boot it isn't, it's far too stiff and heavy a construction to be flexible enough to run a 8 or 10 mile combat fitness test or for urban warfare, but. A military boot needs to fit like a glove and work with the foot not against it, it has to work in all conditions and all terrains and all situations, and the stiffness and weight of the Quest 4D forces 2 limits it's use to only a few. I give it three stars, because it doesn't cover all the bases just a few.

Size 48 (UK 12.5) has proven to be suitable. In terms of length, it would be smaller if you were wider. Usually 46 - 48 should be selected, depending on the manufacturer, model and stock of wool socks. However, these overalls are not slouchy because they have a ``stuffed feel''. By this I mean that there is no model >>just the outer shell<<. For this reason, they are also warmer than advertising texts. Great crank if that's what you prefer, otherwise not. No word on durability so far. I dare to recommend it with reservations.

Straight from the pack to a 20km march with completely intact legs.
It makes you wonder why you haven't bought these before when everyone has praised them. Now I'm praising too, really good shoes.
Even without goretex, it is very well ventilated and after a run it dried very quickly. There are also good-looking ones.
If I have to complain about something, it's that the laces are long and won't stay on without a double knot.

This is my 4th pair of Quest 4D. They are very good shoes. Sole wears pretty fast but I use them quite a bit. Original Quest 4D with open hooks for lacing are prone to catching shoe laces and causing to trip, hence Forces version have fixed this. I am pretty sure I will be buying my fifth pair.

Good shoes for both land and sea (can't withstand water, so don't submerge your foot). The ankles stay firmly in place and rolling is difficult. Nice soft tread on the asphalt. You have to watch where you step when using loskels, but they work well on frosty days.
If you need all-around shoes, here they are. Supportive.

clearly one of the best shoes. Light, but sturdy, and does not require much break-in, but is of the "straight from the package to the march" type. There was a little rubbing on the shoe of the other foot, but it didn't bother me for many hours, so that's not a minus. For me, the non-membrane ones are warmer and these feel comfortably warm even in -10 celsius frost, although these are not winter boots at all. A little slipperiness is noticeable on the ice. The only small negative is that it gets wet very quickly, but also dries in human time.
Last comfortable and a little support for the arch of the foot.
I can recommend.

The first word that comes to mind is stability, traction on any terrain, maybe it doesn't excel on mud and marble, but otherwise ok. Non-GTX version for faster drying in the event of a ford, still allowing good waterproofing. Fast and punctual shipping. A full 10 the product and the varusteleka boys.

The better boots I own!

A nice looking boot but the sizing is off. I ordered a size up and they still weren’t long enough. The toe box is pretty tight as well. Beware they are made in Asia and you might pay a lot of duties on them

Good outdoor shoes for both the terrain and the city. I have used these mainly from September to April and with the wool sock it gets even colder than -15C. Similarly, with a thin sock, the shoe is not too sweaty up to a temperature of about + 5C. The sole is good and holds surprisingly well in the snow and does not feel slippery. This is not the same as the studded one, but more durable than the average winter shoe. As a new sprayer with anti-moisture and anti-dirt coating and now again after the season before summer storage.

I haven't taken these out properly yet, other than some short practice hikes around home. Initial impressions are they are a solid, well-made, and comfortable boot. I got these for use in hot weather conditions, with the idea that a non-Goretex boot might breathe better and dry out faster if it does get saturated (e.g. submerged a river crossing). They were a little heavier than I was expecting at 829g each for a size UK12.5 (my old Salomon Conquest GTX were under 700g). The lace eyelets are plastic, not metal, so I hope they hold up ok.

Well priced and prompt international delivery. The Salomon Quest 4D Forces 2 boots are high-quality, comfortable and lightweight. The boots can be used straight out of the box, requiring minimal breaking in. Highly recommend if you’re after a solid pair of boots.

Good shoes. Have been in use for a year now (not in winter) and are still in perfect condition. The use was hiking and camping style, regular.
Supportive on the foot, no need to be careful about twisting the ankle. Sometimes they feel a little clumsy, mainly if there has been a break from using this model, but I think these are quite large shoes. Good grip on the soles.
Normally, I take size 45 in shoes, in this case the foot has room to swell, but the shoe is not too big. I'm a size 45 1/3 in these and it's been perfect. I've often had problems finding a shoe with a wide enough last, in this Forces model the last is for once suitably wide.
Even these are hot in warm weather, but not to the point of being a problem. Not having a membrane helps, and choosing the right socks. They also dry quickly enough.
That filmlessness hasn't hurt either. I personally put impregnation spray on the surface of the shoe immediately after putting it into use and have treated the leather parts with wax, otherwise the leather will get wet and that is of course not a good thing. If necessary, of course, renewed the processing. I've walked in shoes up to my ankles in water and my socks have stayed dry.
A lot of people squeak from those shoelaces, it hasn't bothered me. They are long, but there is a pocket on the inside of the shoe to hide them.
I'll probably buy another pair if necessary, especially if the fit stays the same, i.e. wide elastic like that.
