I used it for a week-long hike and can only say positive things about this water filter. It doesn't weigh anything and is easy to use. Just don't forget to cleanse it thoroughly when you get back home :-)

The filter bottle has only been with me on one trip, so I haven't had much experience with it yet. It fits neatly into a small space and is really light to carry when empty. An easy-to-use filter system that doesn't require as much force as the Grayl Geopress Purifer. The mouth of the bottle is quite small, though, so the water drains into another container fairly slowly. Otherwise, an excellent product.

High flow rate and the bottle is easy to stash in a side pocket of the backpack. Lifespan of the filter: minus 3 stars. After a few uses the flow rate was already halved. It doesn't handle slightly silty water or lakes well at all.

Havent tried it yet (plan for high mountaineering is June 2024, just in time ordering my necessities). It's a flexible bottle, which is cool. Didnt get that from the picture on the website, so that's a plus. Easy packing

I was surprised by the lightness of the bottle and how it could fit into a small space. I can't say anything about durability yet, since the device has only been in use for a while. You can squeeze hard, but it fulfills its purpose. Stylish, light. Looking forward to future trips!

Absolutely great product. The filter has proven to be really good, for example, water from a field ditch that floods in the spring has been taken and it tasted the same as tap water through it. A flexible bottle is also absolutely good. I recommend it to all kinds of adventurers who don't want to carry water with them with a photo bag.

Based on the short use, it seems that my previous water purifier (Katadyn Vario) might be a bit redundant. This pullover version is much faster and more nimble to use compared to Vario tubing, stacking and pumping, not to mention the weight or clogging in off-road conditions.
I bought the Tactical version because its material is supposed to be more durable than the regular BeFree bottle. Time will tell how long it really lasts.

Commentary on The Katadyne Befree Tactical is far superior to the other basic model. I am confused as to why the tactical version has not been promoted as an option, very difficult to find. I have not used the Tactical yet, bought it for a two-month Hike in Europe. I will update with the result upon my return. Feels better, Looks Better, the material is definitely a better material. Based on my initial inspection ... looks great.

This is the superlative portable water filter on the market. No other comes close. If you are a thru-hiker, this is your first choice and there is no second. Big thanks to Katadyn for making these available so the adventures can continue unhindered. - James
