High-quality shoes that are at home in the terrain. On a backpacking trip to Scotland, the accompanying equipment had to be compacted, and the choice was easy: with these shoes it was easy to travel from the streets all the way to Ben Nevis. At home, the shoes are specifically in the woods and on the trails. I think the last is great, leaving enough room for the toes. Naturally, good grip causes the pattern to wear if you run on asphalt or encounter a lot of rocks.

For Swimrun good grip, comfortable with drop 6mm but a really: flexible sole so a little minimalist. Very narrow toebox, be carefull, this shoes are not suitable for large feet. For the moment I prefer the slab amphib for races, I would use the vj for training.

Castle's trail of Verres 🏰 🏃♀️ 🏃♂️
23 km (with 1530m of elevation gain 😱) of breathtaking views in the Aosta Valley ⛰
Very hard 😓, but it's the weekends that we like ☺️
At Luca's feet a pair of VJ shoes, a Finnish company specializing in orienteering shoes, which they characterize as “the best grip in the world”. The shoes used by Luca are the Irock 3, a very thorough trail model. How did you find yourself?
It is already the second race that I run with these shoes, in addition to several intense workouts, and in my opinion they are excellent for those who want to get some dynamite out of the way.
Now, to say they have "the best grip in the world" I don't know. For sure the grip is excellent and holds on any terrain: stony, dusty, grassy, muddy, thanks to well-spaced 6 mm butyl rubber studs to maximize grip. Despite this they are very light (only 240 g. A real feather!) And, most importantly that gives stability in the grip on the ground, they are very low! The stack is in fact 8/14 mm (ie the forefoot is only 8 mm from the ground, and the heel at 14, with a drop of 6 mm. A stack of the lowest on the market). A comparison can be made with the already commented (see stories in the Shoes section) Inov8 X-Talon, Evadict Race Light, Hoka Evo Jawz.
The shoe is also very snug: the foot is in fact well shod and protected, but - as I said - glued to the ground.
Racing with the Irock fast stretches on even difficult or challenging terrain is a pleasure, and despite the lightness you have the feeling of being well protected and even a little cushioned.
They are shoes that would be close to 10, as a vote, except that perfection is not of this world: in the most stony and irregular descents I felt the stones under my foot a little too much. The race was 23km and I endured it without problems, but if it had been twice as long I would have certainly suffered. They still take a 9, paying only for the lack of rockplate in the midsole. I know that there is another similar model that has it: I will try to test it as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, I enjoy these Finnish wonders, light and performing, on the most suitable traits for their structure ... and good we to all 🤗

Best trail shoe ever

Great shoes which has the tagline #bestgripontheplanet. This is true, tried out various brands but VJ are the best so far, iRock model is the one which has less damping but very good feeling. Size wise you may probably consider buying slightly bigger size than normal since the toe box is a bit narrow.

A good basic shoe for running off-road. In fact, I used the shoe in place Dobb shoes in orienteering "easier" no matter the weather and the terrain. The shoe fits well on the foot and holds well especially in dry conditions. Of course, in the humid weather of autumn, such a studless shoe is not an optimal alternative when stepping on the silky roots and barkless trunks of fallen trees.

Ok, I am completely impressed with the efficiency of Varuste!. I ordered these shoes on 4/27 and received them on 5/2. I live in the middle of the US. This shipment was extremely quick coming from Finland. Also, the emails have a ton of detail for shipping info in the form of .pdf files. I have never dealt with a company that is this detailed. If you have a problem receiving an order with Varuste, it won't ever be there fault. The shipping company might screw it up, but Varuste appears to take no chances with customer service. I will definitely buy more products from this site. First impressions of the VJ iRock 3: 1. the fit is fairly narrow. They work great for my feet, but a wide foot could never wear these. 2. They feel fantastic! 3. The grip feels so good, kind of sticky. I can't wait to get them on wet rock. 4. They are very light. So out of the box, they are perfect. Exactly the right size and what I'm looking for.
