Very practical tool for sharpening skis better than the pros. Too bad that for the price, there is not a MEDIUM disk in addition to the FINE disk to be able to do the job completely.

A little practice required, but once the tool is in hand it does a very good job. On prepared and maintained skis it's really easy. I continue to use my diamond and arkansas for an impeccable finish and ongoing maintenance after each outing (I will see to optimizing the frequency of use of the Swix). Product received without incident, but with a certain delay from GLS.

Easy to handle. Set the desired grinding angle. Should be the same as on the ski, otherwise change the grinding wheel to a coarse one. Grind over it in the direction of the arrow. Removal is economical with the included (fine) grinding wheel. You can sand 2-3 times until the edge is really sharp.

Superb pice of kit . Follow instructions and keep it clean . Make sure ski side wall is planned back from steel edge before use. If done properly it will not alter the ski turning radius like just files can . A really great pice of kit !

Excellent sharpener. Not entirely foolproof - you need to learn a technique to use it, but once you have, it's extremely efficient and leaves a great edge. All the grades of sheel result is exactly what you would expect - coarse = quick and efficient, fine = general use, extra fine = very fine polished edge.

The product is of high quality with a nice finish despite the plastic cover. Changing the different finishers is very easy. Like any device of this type, you have to be EXTREMELY careful to be regular in the passages AND very concentrated otherwise it is very easy to damage everything deeply. It's a hit. The level of finish is very high for the FINE finish. I also do an EXTRA FINE finish for a finish worthy of a Wintersteiger. The field squares are very hard. On the other hand, even if the SWIX videos indicate that it is not necessary to pass a 1000 diamond plate or extra hard Arkansas stone at the level of the edges of the soles, I prefer to do so in order to remove the slight deburring thread. Maintenance is easy with a small brush as explained in the SWIX USA videos and you have to add a tiny drop of bicycle chain oil (extra fine Vaseline) to maintain the spring. A beautiful, simple and effective product for enthusiasts and meticulous.

This product is totally magical. For years I have been making steep slopes in ski touring and I constantly need to sharpen my edges. Very efficient, fast and easy to use. There is however a problem: with certain fixings the device is deported. It is therefore necessary to check the distance of the binding (stop-ski and binding body) from the edge. Swix (€ 350) is a low-cost version of Carrot (€ 1,500). / After a few pairs of skis: sharp edges quickly and easily. Keeps on ice and hard slopes. / Sometimes there is a harder "hardened" point in the square where the file doesn't bite, Swix works even then. Less sweat than working with a file and diamond. / The corner support against the bottom collects the wax and starts poking (keep it clean). Slightly rimpula. No carrying case. A sub-editor may still be needed. Personal protective equipment should be (breathing, eyes, hearing), that is, more stuff to carry. / I still like the file + diamond selections for super sharp. The durability of the grindstone is still a mystery, as is whether the edges wear faster than with a file and diamond.
