Great, the linker's scissors are playing again. I took another one in case the spring breaks again after 20 years. Easy to install by squeezing with pliers, as long as you position it accurately.

Slightly diffrent design from the original one on my 1995 Vivtorinox Herkules. 111mm Herkules scissor arm has groove to guide spring. The old spring was shaped to slide inside this groove. New one does works well enough.

The 20-year-old already needed another new spring. The previous one was broken ten years ago. The linker has not required any other maintenance. A service life of 10 years is quite reasonable for such a consumable part.

The new spring replaced the previously broken one, works great, the only minus being how hard it was to get the scissor base spring gap in place. I don’t know if this could have been facilitated by the instructions, I myself survived the mild violence and about twenty attempts.

Attaching the spring to the pliers was a bit awkward at first and required the use of tools, but there have been no problems since. The Vivtorinox Cybertool pliers are now easier to use because the original spring was broken.
