I wanted shoes without Goretex and made from leather, to use daily and for smaller hikes (eg 1-3 days). So far very happy with the shoe. All leather is great and watertight. The fit is very good, but not as snug as eg Meindl vacuum. Also, the inner sole is rather thin/hard, so I replaced it with a Meindl vacuum sole, which fits perfectly (I have size 9,5). So I can highly recommend for daily walks and smaller hikes. Perfect A/B shoe, which quality-wise will last a long time. For long-distance hiking (+60km and +20kg) I will keep on using my Meindl Vakuum. But can recommend having both these shoes, which seem to be the perfect combination for all kinds of walking. Update: after less than 1 year of use, the soles start to loosen up on the side (where the toes bend) and dirt and water can get in. Currently in 1 place, but the other three places have started showing signs as well. Although happy with the shoe in daily life, I can not recommend it, due to the shoe not fitting as well as other models and the quality/breaking down within a year

Pretty lightweight but solid boots, nicely made. Felt good from day one, no break-in needed.

High-quality shoes, in which the shape of the sole allows the big toe to be straight, prevent problems with weak bones. The shape must also be considered when purchasing possible support insoles. The surface leather is scratched relatively easily. A plus is that the sole is designed to be replaced.

I bought my first Hanwagin Waxenstein shoes in the spring of 2016 and have been using that pair summer and winter for six years. Now the soles are broken, but you can get new soles by sending them to the factory.
I just bought a new pair, which of course are excellent. I can use these alternately with the old pair.

Top shoes for hiking marked trails. Guaranteed Hanwag quality, therefore, will last in their own weekly use for 10-15 years when replacing the new base with an old one every 4-6 years. The only downside was that it wasn’t a Straight-fit last, but a Straight-fit extra. Thus, the real last is close to the Jalas Drylock Phantom shoes, which works well in everything but rock cliff / rock mound sections. Should buy other so-called. mountain hiking boots with a narrow last for just that purpose. Still: I recommend ++++

I like that there has been an emphasis on the ethics and ecology of the materials. Anyway, the shoes feel high quality and aesthetically pleasing. Only the flap doesn’t seem to stay straight, but constantly folds to the side and makes stepping a little more uncomfortable. I already changed my shoes once because of this, but in new ones the same thing continues, albeit in a different foot shoe ...

I bought the shoes for general use, i.e. for trips and city asphalt. The shoes feel good on the feet and are stylish. In less than a year, the stitches started to come off the shoes, which were caused when the shoes have often hit each other. In less than two years, the soles of the shoe wore out and the other sole cracked, causing water to enter the shoe. The cobbler will add a hundred cents more to the price of the shoe after two years of use (spring and fall use). I can't recommend.
