a sturdy backpack and molle mirror can be found for a wide variety of bags if you want more space.
Functional and durable
Excellent backpack. The carrier is 198cm / 110kg and fits well. You should probably get muks as this takes from father to son. With a couple of M-sized vertical pockets, the capacity expands even more comfortably.
Best bag ever, quality from Finland!
These are the products you need to buy once in a lifetime.
Super indestructible bag really a product that is suitable for the trek and the backpacker.
I am happy with this purchase. Inaugurated during a 4-day journey. It is the first backpack that I feel part of my body in any movement. Functional and very resistant material.
A detail missing for me and I'm used to is the presence of an external pocket on the top closure.
At full load you feel the lack of padding in the shoulder straps.
However, it is a backpack that I would recommend in this M size :-)
The backpack feels surprisingly good on the back when cycling. In addition, there seems to be much more space compared to backpacks of the same size.
Good backpack feels solid delivered quickly
A quality product for the rest of your life and can still be left as a legacy.
Excellent product of very good quality I recommend
This is the most solid backpack
Really impressed with the quality of the pack, I love the quick access side zipper and the endless molle/pals attachment points, the only things I'd change on the pack are the side pockets could be a little deeper, and a quick access zippered pocket on the top of the lid you could access without taking the pack off.
Also a bit more padding on the sholder pads would be nice, the pack is still comfortable for light hikes but if you need to pack more, possibly for an overnighter it can be pretty rough.
Overall this is an excellent pack and I highly recommend it.
Haven't gotten along to testing it properly in outdoors/hiking scenarios, but have used it daily for work and city travel.
Having a hip belt on a normal sized backpack has really been a gamechanger when it comes to bringing along lots of stuff comfortably, in situations where a big ass hiking backpack isn't suitable.
The backplate also helps a lot as it keeps the comfortable shape along my back even when the load doesn't fill the backpack evenly,
It looking cool as hell with the Finish camo pattern also is a big plus when everyone else are using boring mono-color backpacks.
Only complaint so far is the tightening button/knob thing for the opening is a bit finicky if you don't grab it properly.
My suggestion here would be a tightening button that's shorter in height, but wider so you get more surface area for you fingers to hold and press on.
Impeccable price and quality 100% approved
On the other hand not necessarily suitable for wide backs
The pack is amazing - strong construction, perfect size, and feels very comfortable while wearing.
This backpack is indeed indestructible. I have loaded it and am amazed how much capacity there is.
Quickly equipped for multi-day tours with the Molle system and additional bags. The wearing comfort is really great.
I would buy him over and over.
Very good quality material and fast delivery ... In a word "nickel"
Very sturdy and extremely versatile bag!
Over all pretty pleased with the pack. A few things I would change would be to add a water bladder hose clip on the strap I was able to find a few on Amazon cheep so not the end of the world, maybe a few more small compartments on the inside like they do on the top of the bag and add two strap organizers to the shoulder strap adjustments, they have them for the straps on the side idk why they don't have them there I was able to fix that with a bit of duck tape. Overall though the material feels really good I don't see the bag tearing apart any time soon and it's an extremely comfortable bag, I really like how the bag Is expandable when you need to fit more in it, I wouldn't be surprised if you could fit 40L worth of stuff in here. I also like the fact that it has molle webbi everywhere making it easy to add specialty pouches like med kits, j also like that there are places to store places to store your tent or sleeping role. , I suspect this bag will hold up to the test of time and serve me well on many of my adventures
Very good, minus not being able to open the front panel completely.
excellent quality, i ordered the Savotta Jääkäri from the U.S. and not only did I receive it in about 3 days, it is of the up most highest quality rucksack I've ever owned!
Very good Quality and looks awesome.
Great product, fast shipping and great packaging
Product of excellent quality ... unsurpassed ... super kind and professional staff ... always warn if an ordered product is missing and relative delivery ... thanks milleeeee
Best backpack I have had to date.
Not as good as the L-series product, but not a bad thing to say about it.
A well-fitting, versatile backpack. Seems sustainable. Made in Europe (Estonia)
Love the pack. Just what I need. The only down point would be a more rigid support plate inside pack. The one provided is fine but I find needs to be more solid for big weights. I'm going to do some home improvements on it and all good.
Great design and production quality.
Best backpack I have ever had.
With the 2 side pockets in M the capacity increased quite a bit and allows me autonomy up to 4-5 days for the 3 seasons :)
Robust solid. Quite water resistant. top
A very good daypack with easy access to extra pockets when needed. This has been with me for a long time and has really lasted very well. While the hip belt and straps are pretty minimalist, this is surprisingly good to wear on your back. No complaints.
Excellent piece of kit, which I'm sure will last me a lifetime. All expectations fulfilled.
Great product and fantastic service!
Are you looking for a practical, reliable, comfortable and above all robust backpack? Well you have found it, comfortable for days of prolonged trekking and capable of carrying the necessary for a couple of days with the possibility of expanding the capacity through the external straps, the weight is distributed well, especially if you use the belt at the waist. If what scares is the price, well I can assure you that for the quality of the materials and finishes, also thanks to the simplicity in the design, I believe that I will never change my backpack again. Highly recommended.
All daypack requirements must be met. The fifth star would have come from the integrated rain cover.
Very handy, eternal backpack. Protean; is convenient when you can remove any extra pockets for day trips. Different moral cues can also make a backpack quite fun-looking. The zipper on the side is awesome, even though I wondered if it could have been all the way up so that the whole backpack could be fully opened. The ergonomics of the backpack are very good for me at least and it can move on the back almost as easily as without the backpack. I am very satisfied!
Perhaps one of the best and durable packs, I've had the pleasure of using. The design is both simple & functional, perfect for 2-3 day hikes. I look forward to and expect many, many years of use.
Could not rate the Varuste service and Savotta product any highly - excellent product and speedy delivery.
Sturdy, enough seats for add-ons, well-fitting and light. I've been using resistant weekend trips.
Rapid dispatch. Excellent quality, the seams are very well made. Good countenance. Perfect for adding pockets with its molle system.
This is not the most practical, but there is no need to fear endurance. Guaranteed Savota quality.
Perfect size for almost any trip.
High quality backpack. Does not show any signs of wear.
Perfect! Bought it because I read everywhere how robust it is. And I have to say he's better than I thought. Everything was great and also very comfortable. The seams and all materials are very good quality and very well made.
There is nothing. Best backpack. Delivery was quick.
This is an absolutely great backpack. I also have a smaller version for everyday use, but if more stuff is needed, this one leaves. The zipper that opened from the side was the thing I was looking for. It’s easier to dig things when you don’t have to tear everything out of your mouth to finally find those dry socks, etc. Loose pockets are easy to change from one backpack to another when needed.
A little pricey, but probably will last for the future, so I don’t think it’s too bad after all.
Good carrying properties, so you can take on more weight if needed.
All in all a good daypack for honeymooners. Comfortable to carry on the back even with bigger weights and thanks to the overpacking, you can get a lot of goods with you. On the other hand, straps can be used to tighten even smaller loads so that the back does not slump. Even the side zipper is really convenient and the quality is what you can expect from Savota.
Tested over a weekend. Very good product quality. He looks solid. Convenient. Good capacity despite the announced 30l liter.
The only drawback is that the side mesh pockets are not large enough to fit a one liter water bottle, for example. A little bigger and this bag would be on top!
A classic reason. Good product.
Savotta have very great & modular using backback, i use the jägeri Xl and vor high alpin trips here in switzerland the M.
Now a second one for a friend.
Dirty, hard, rock & ice, NO problems with savotta, we LOVE it!!
Guaranteed Savotta quality. Sturdy and sedentary. I also recommend getting vertical pockets for the pages.
thank you savotta, great bag, ingenious, solid, comfortable, beautiful.
Absolutely awesome backpack!
Took this out for a 3 day camping trip. What an amazing bag! Its sturdy, well built, and well designed. Definitely going to be my go to bag from now on.
Can't but recommend. The product is like a Finnish man; modest in itself but does what it promises, and much on top.
A good and durable backpack. An aidless amount of stuff can be loaded on board with the help of moles and straps.
I bought Jääkäri M as a birthday present for my wife. He has been happy! Easy to pack, and overpack. Nice looking and seems durable quality. Sits well on your back. Finnish quality does not disappoint.
Durable, spacious and comfortable to carry. Suitable for hiking and also in the city.
This backpack very comfortable and durable!! Very good choice for me!
For myself, this size is most suitable. The backpack doesn’t have a lot of extra jips or other extra pockets, but is a very strong looking product. Feel comfortable on excursions to carry.
Strong, simple and simply GREAT
I bought this bag for my gear, when rock-climbing. The bag has everything I need and xtra strength.
Perfect! Nothing else.
Strong backpack, I absolutely recommend it !!!
Update: I love the backpack !!! He now accompanies everywhere!
Fits well with rattles and excellent adjustments. On the plus side of the possibility of overpacking, a sweater, towel or jacket can be easily packed under the flap. The only downside comes from the fact that if there is a little stuff involved then when reaching for the top, the backpack may be a little too deep. However, the side zipper solves this problem. The little slings pack well in a loose pocket that can be attached to a backpack in Savota or why not from another manufacturer.
Best quality as expected
Excellent quality, quite comfortable on the back, even when heavily loaded, I think that rucksack lasts a lifetime, fast shipping, thanks a lot
A mega cool backpack to be recommended again and again
Everything is fine, thank you!
Robust, solid, durable, multifunctional, inheritable!
Very good backpack. The support plate keeps the backpack upright. It is comfortable to wear thanks to a good hip belt and shoulder straps.
Just what it was supposed to be. Sustainable and well endured adventures in different conditions. Coped very well both in the hustle and bustle of Helsinki and in the terrain. When in the ass, it worked well as a brake when on the back.
There are already two of these, ie the second so-called forest backpack. always ready to go with a "just add lunch" message and this new came for everyday / business use. Of the Savota products, maybe just "the" product!
A good and durable backpack. The only concern is the plastic buckles how they last 10v.
The buckles when changing then the stitches have to be dismantled. Buckle one star off an otherwise great backpack.
Good backpack, workmanship of good quality
The purchase decision was hampered by the size of the backpack, which I feared for a couple of years. When jumping in the store, the backpack always felt unnecessarily big. When the backpack was finally on offer, I grabbed the opportunity. The backpack gets tightened with straps into a pretty tight package, so the large size doesn’t bother me too much, and my fear was perhaps a little exaggerated. I have previously used mainly haglöfs backpack, which itself is considered rigid backpack with frame from your back and your back is against the network of plastic. Compared to this, your back is on fire. In addition, the backpack does not have a (standard) rigid frame, but surprisingly sturdy this is the position. I have not yet packed more than 10 kg of mass in the backpack. I would also like extra pockets, I have to do something to attach to the loops.
Excellent daypack! And travels with all business trips, etc.
For the same price would have received three Chinese throats but no regrets. The legacy of this backpack will still fight juicily in time. As a bonus, I hope there will be some tax in Finland. It is a patriotic feeling now. 120 month warranty and 6 months more from the review.
I really like this backpack, it' sturdy and looks great. It's very easy to adjust to your own body type to fit like a glove and you can customize it in so many ways. I bought a Savotta horizontal pocket S to use it as a hip belt pocket and the size of the pocket is perfect for me, I can put my phone, passport, wallet, keys etc. without worrying that the pocket is too small (like most of the standard hiking backpacks hip belt pockets), it's also not too big to look weird. I plan to use this backpack for 1 day hiking trips and for city trips. I think the size is perfect to put jackets in, a thermos, cups, blanket, food, two ultralight chairs, strap a tent and sleeping bag if needed. What I like about it is that it's flexible, it has enough room to use it for 1-3 day hikes but you can also use it as a day pack when visiting a city without looking too big. The fact that you can attach a hip belt pocket, a bottle pocket makes all the difference for me. My wife has scoliosis so I do all the carrying when going somewhere. Sometimes it can be a pain using a regular backpack (I have a cammelback for day trips). Because I don't use the hydration bladder inside the city, we have to stop every now and then to take out the bottle of water, take out/put in a jacket, take out the wallet, etc. With the Jaakari M I added a hip pocket for quick access to phone, wallet, keys etc., a bottle pouch so I have the water at hand all the time (the side pockets are large enough for half a liter bottle of water but I wanted an extra pouch so I can attach it to the shoulder strap when going for longer hikes or in case I want to use a larger bottle of water) and a Savotta Vertical Pocket L on the front of the backpack so that my wife can put her jacket in/take it out without having to stop and open the main compartment (you can use the side zipper just fine but I wanted the extra storage just in case). Two things you should consider: color of the backpack, mine is black and I think this will attract a lot of heat when walking in a hot summer day in a city but I can live with it, I think green or camo would draw too much attention in a city; the other thing are the straps, the hip belt straps are long, so are the shoulder straps and they will hang around not looking nice (I'm 183cm tall and 76kg in weight). What I did was to adjust the backpack to my liking and afterwards I folded the extra straps nicely and used thin black plastic zip ties lying around the house to secure them nicely -works perfectly. You can buy some strap holders or go to your local supermarket and buy some zip ties for 1 euro, they will not break and they look ok on the backpack. My zip ties are thin enough so that I can use one of my keys to cut them in case I need extra strap length (I always have the keys with me when leaving the house and I doubt I will need the extra length any time soon). I considered the Jaakari L for a long time but I think it would have been too big for my needs, for the price of a Jaakari L I bought: 1Jaakari M+1Savotta Horizontal Pocket S+1Savotta Vertical Pocket L+1Savotta Packing straps 100 cm (2 straps in a package)+2Mammut Wall Micro Oval Screw Gate carabiner+1bottle poch from MysteryRanch. In case I need more space in the future, I will buy the Jaakari L and use the accessories that I already have with that backpack. I think the backpack and the pouches from Savotta are great quality and you can't go wrong with it. Enjoy!
Good backpack. Versatile and practical. I recommend.
Guaranteed Savo, really good position.
This backpack runs from father to son and is so good to carry and sturdy that it also goes on short hikes.
Very spacious and practical daypack! A one-night trip will also work well if there is no need to pack a tent. Not quite the most ergonomic back laptop, but good enough. Very expandable with MOLLE mounts. Also seems very durable, Savotta quality. Strong recommendation.
I was looking for a pack to fill the gap between my 28 liter daypack and 47 liter minimalist rucksack. The Jääkäri M filled that gap and more. It is small enough for a daypack, but can be extended so much it becomes perfectly suitable for a minimalist weekender or even multi day outing. It looks well built and sturdy enough to last a lifetime. Looking foreward to all the adventures we'll have together!
Really good back. Suitable size for day trips. Being on your back does not interfere with cycling.
Stitches of good quality.
I bought a Jaeger M backpack for everyday use to replace an old backpack. The backpack mainly carries a laptop and other workloads. There has been quite a lot of space and it has never been full. The materials of the backpack themselves feel of high quality and certainly wear-resistant. Compared to the old one, the straps of the backpack even feel stiff, but at least in this use it doesn’t hurt.
Absolutely great packaging!
Very good backpack for many kinds of camping use!
Just received it, seems like a premium product. Looking forward on using it.
Very nice backpack, good, strong quality
Excellent quality. The price is just fine. Durable and comfortable.
Usability and quality top notch! My best backpack so far.
The best you can get with money!
For whoever likes this kind of style it's absolutely perfect. Legendary. Love it and all Savotta products.
Was looking for a backpack (daysack) that I could use in the military as well as outside in public and decided on this one due to the 30 litre capacity, the excellent reputation of the company, use in the Finnish military and the olive green colour. I was looking at jayjays litefighter, berghaus munro or a camelbak, but I don't like to use a camo print in public and have always been impressed by savotta. Additionally, I feel that anything over 30 litres is too much and that the previously mentioned daysacks have a few features I don't like. In the military setting this daysack can be easily top flapped in your bergen and has a colour that blends in well with a temperate climate. It is very comfy and the build quality is the best I have seen. It is a bit expensive, especially if you import it from Finland and get charged import and tax fees, which I did. The only thing I don't like are the built-in pouches on the side, I feel they are too small and not secure enough, ideally I would like it to keep a water bottle there without having to secure with the quick release straps. I bought two medium vertical side pouches and a medium horizontal pouch to go with the daysack, but have not used them yet, maybe consider them if you are looking at this daysack. People have said to me to buy British, but I'd rather support a fantastic hardworking company than just buy something due to the location of the company. I am very pleased with my purchase and will continue to support savotta.
Really well made backpack with versatile packaging options. In fact, used this mainly as a daypack, but can also accommodate one-night outing goods. As a shopping backpack, you can spend less than twenty pounds shopping on your back comfortably. Has also served as a log bag at the cottage. Quality guaranteed Savot, is sure to withstand even harsher use.
My will be tomorrow. Hardly waiting for Malta overnight, the belt goes fishing with future pockets, a backpack packed in a daypack for a trip, a full day family daypack, a REALLY durable shopping bag, etc. can be better and more versatile. You can tie the camera tripod to the other side of the tripod or fishing pole, even if I have a wound. Definitely last.
Great backpack. I have used Jaeger photography trips, on longer training loops, city use, forest trips etc. Suitable for many thing. In the coming days, I will publish my review and recommendations on my travel blog. Visit reading: vilzu.blogspot.fi
