We bought this gas + heat solution for mosquitoes. At first, the product worked as expected (within a week, the amount of mosquitoes trapped in the receptacle was amazing). The issue came shortly after. Even if we had many insects around us, the machine didn’t attract many. We used 2 or 3 large gas bottles and all 3 “parfum” sponges during the first summer. Second season was wasted… the machine didn’t attract anything… we brought the equipment to repair center (it took 2 weeks to have it back) and it still didn’t work. What a waste of time and money. Be aware that you would need to 1) buy the machine 5-600€ 2) buy parfum recharges 3-4 per season (40€) 3) buy 3-4 large gas bottles per season (3 x 40€) 4) electricity 24hours 7 days a week for 3-4 months (to run the heat resistance and fan) PS Varuste has outsourced the after sales of that machine to local repair (no issue with that).

Compared to the older model, the structure has improved, and it is no longer necessary to clean with separate pressure tanks. Plus the significantly larger bug tank (approx. 3x larger). Development has gone in the right direction. In my opinion, the suction power is still modest, even the old one had to be tuned with a more powerful fan, so the amount of catch improved.

Do what it promises. The 10-day catch is about 1dl of mosquitoes and marshmallows, which is less than I hoped for, but more of what I want to rush from my skin. When (I insist: WHEN) it works, it's perfect! but what a weaker machine... I live in Spain... every year there is a breakdown. It's horrible... I have to send it to France to be fixed... and that despite taking into account all the thousand recommendations that I've been given... honestly, if you don't live in a country where there is maintenance... I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT... taking into account the cost of the machine (600 euros) and, not to mention the breakdown, a cost of 50 euros every three weeks (between the propane bottle, the R octenol and the cartridge for the tiger mosquito ... a ruin!
