It may fit under a wet suit as well, but I use it on top of the wet suit to prevent cold water from entering the back zipper inside the suit. For me, the hooded vest is just the right size and length to completely cover the zipper. It also brings a pleasant extra warmth to the cold waters of autumn. One star dropped from the design of the Hood that presses on my chin, otherwise the Hood is the right size and design. The material of the neck is completely smooth so you could maybe also wear it with a dry suit so that the neck cuff is tight.
