An excellent purchase, saves the clumsy driver from many painful bumps. When fitting, the knee pads didn't feel very comfortable, but they are completely forgotten when driving. I have been washing with just water and so far it seems to be enough.

These work...but they do not fit well. If I could, I would change them for a smaller size for peace of mind. They tend to size and fit large (not true to size). You may want to consider a smaller size if you worry that they will move down during a fall. I find myself pulling them up during rides.
