I bought this as a backpacker/couchsurfer sleeping bag, much more comfortable to sleep in indoors than the SA-INT Defence 4. It also serves its true purpose, i.e. as a summer sleeping bag outdoors/in a tent. With a thicker bag, the opening-closing ritual throughout the night starts to get annoying, with this one I sleep really well with the "one-stop tactic". It also packs down very small, and the materials and stitching seem to last from father to son.

Such a light and comfortable sleeping bag, so easy to get out of, never felt so easy to manage.

A brisk week of field testing in a hammock. Night temperatures a couple of degrees below zero, but it's very accurate - well, it's a user-specific experience, who's accurate, who's not. Perhaps the most pleasing thing was the smoothly functioning zipper, and the sleeping bag's ability to not get too wet. The nights of the rest of the trip were tinged with rain, but the bag still remained dry.
Packs up smoothly into its compression bag and with the bag you can compress it quite small, even so that the pack is easy to carry inside a backpack.

I bought the Carinthia Defense 1 sleeping bag on purpose alongside the Carinthia Defense 4 and I haven't regretted the purchase for a nanosecond! Often during PV's voluntary exercises, you sleep indoors or in similar places, so a thinner sleeping bag offers a better night's sleep than suffering in a thicker bag. The thin bag works well indoors and you can work with it even in the coldest situations, when you can regulate the temperature with clothing and the inner bag. As a small bag, it is convenient to carry, like its big brother. And Carinthia Defense 1 is the so-called majuvarma, when its appearance is the same as the bigger one, the only difference is the thickness. On the other hand, who is going to check which bag is in use? I suggested the same to my brother and he bought himself the same product and has been satisfied!

Works as promised. A good bag for three years. I used it as soon as the mail came. The temperature was 5°C and I stayed warm despite the fact that I had forgotten to open the foot zipper for the night. Packed up small and is roomy enough 180cm/93kg. I recommend!
The only downside is that the bag does not have a spark-proof foot.
The delivery was slow by Varuste.net, but the inquiry was answered kindly and the post office brought the package the day after it had left the store.

Experience only from summer use, and it's excellent, not abrasive, roomy, so the bag can easily fit a cell phone, camera, car keys, etc.. With this, I've managed in the sky and managed to hide mosquitoes under the hood. Plus the zipper.

Very tough, well build, relatively light and packable sleeping bag. I am a warm sleeper and found that this bag is too hot for me at 10 celsius degrees! Thanks to synthetic filling you don't have to worry about moisture from rain or your own sweat. Really recommend as 3 season sleeping bag.

A sleeping bag that feels functional. The strength and location of the zipper are good. There doesn't seem to be a pocket in the bag, which would be good. Inside the Defense 1, I also tried a winter bag from another brand (like Garinthia), which fit quite comfortably. I think it's still fine with an inner sheet at a few degrees below zero.

Lighter for summer weather. Carinhia quality in a fashionable color. I had already bought a down bag from the same manufacturer before, so somehow I knew what I was getting...
Definitely 200cm for the shoulderiest, even if the weight is a bit heavy.
The manufacturer's own sheet was already there, so it went well with the fastening loops. For an aging person, it's enough for a summer bag, but not with my blood flow for fall weather.
Thanks to Varuste.net's offer campaign, there were no other sensible options for a summer bag at this price.

I got this 3-year-old sleeping bag to put on top, so you can enjoy camping in the winter as well. It seems to be of damn high quality, the thermal values are on point, the zipper is really great when you can open it from the bag but from the backpack, it feels breathable and the moisture doesn't stay inside. I'm 183cm tall myself and my 3-year-old bag is close to me, and this Defense 1 bigger model fits it nicely, doesn't bother me at all. At this price, you can hardly get any other such good and high-quality bag

A good basic sleeping bag. It was actually bought as a slightly better summer bag for the wild cat and so far there have been no complaints. You can open the zipper when it's hot. So far, there is no experience of very cold nights, but I think it does what it promises.
The zipper is sturdy, Easy to pack. Fits into a reasonably small space. The materials seem durable. It seems good.

Does what it promises, but unfortunately cramped. Not suitable for those suffering from the slightest dread of tight spaces. In terms of its width, I think it is mainly suitable only for children or very slim adults who are not bothered by a narrow bag. We used it for children.

I bought this for indoor use when the Carinthia 4 is too hot: the suitable temperature is around +18C down to 0C. The zippers work better than in cheap bags and are sturdy, the quality is overall good and the bag packs into a small space. As a pillow, I bought a Sea to Summit travel pillow that fits in a small space (in its own bag) inside the sleeping bag's protective bag, so it always goes with you. I give 5 stars for quality, ease of use and practicality (goes into a really small space).

A bag that can be used up to +5c if you want to sleep in basic pajamas. By adding a little more clothing and a thermal blanket, it will be more precise in subzero temperatures. The large zipper is comfortable to use and the bag is roomy. It is quite happy to crawl there when tired and there is no need for additional adjustment. Packs into a fairly small space in its own high-quality compression bag. A suitable purchase for those looking for a basic summer bag.

Bought this for it's compact size and temp rating. But I sleep cold so this keeps my upper half warm down to just under 50 F (10 C) instead of the stated 37 F (3 C). It fits inside the Carinthia Defence 4 for added insulation, but my area hasn't got cold enough to test the 2 together.

Great bag, great value, great ability to compress the bag for packing. However, the neck hole can be a bit restrictive. Would be a 5 star if the neck opening was more comfortable.

Such a great bag, I got the survival one for the winter, love it a lot and i needed a summer sleeping bag, it was a no brainer that i’m going too purchase the defence 1. Honestly i got no con for the carinthia defence sleeping bag, it’s perfect for me.

Guaranteed Carinthia quality cannot be broken except by intentionally breaking it. The only Makuu bag I've found where the shoulder size is 87cm, if you're serious this is the right bag for you.
Maybe not for gram filers, but it fits in a small space and is very precise in the summer and goes a long way into the fall.
Used a lot and the lining has never been between the chain.

Really pleased super quality sleeping bag. .Love the central zip and width of the bag. Warm enough for up to about plus 3 .Packs nice and small. Am planning to use it combined with my defense 4 sleeping bag but have not tried that yet. So far have slept three nights with this bag and am really pleased with the performance and comfort.

Maybe a bit too warm during summer, insulates really well.

On the day I camped with a Trofen sleeping bag, my brother used this sleeping bag and said it was a bit cold. Even though the comfort temperature is lower than the Trofen sleeping bag. I don't know exactly why my brother felt the cold more than me. Maybe it's because of the old mat, but what if there is another reason? He said that he was satisfied with the color, straw, and width.

A bag that works for the price plus a coil. The inner material itself is at least pleasant. Zipper works, does not hang, but does not open unnecessarily easily. Inside of a suitable size, not insanely loose, but not tight. It has a length of 181 and a relatively normal body, and a 185 bag is a good fit. If necessary, it goes well inside the Defense 4 bag.

A good quality fiber bag that is perfect for winter use when using two sleeping bags. I took a bigger size to fit in there with my down bag. The -15 degree frost was not a problem when I used two bags. Also suitable as such for use in spring, summer and autumn. It’s pretty heavy compared to down bags, of course.

I ordered a sleeping bag Carintia Defens-1. A good high-quality sleeping bag. The delivery to the Russian Federation took a long time. The store and the order picker coped with 5. Arska turned out to be patient, explained the situation, calmed him down, advised him to use an interpreter. I recommend the store.

One test night just behind, but at least at +10 the temperature was really warm and comfortable. That is, it will definitely go in some cooler weather. I would guess that near zero, the weather is still warm enough when you are also wearing clothes. The zipper has a good large tooth and can be pulled on both sides. Light in weight and comfortably small in size, when the finished package is still tightened by the bag with tightening ties. Here, the price-performance ratio seems to be right!

High-quality bag. To save space and weight, I took that M size. I'm 183/75, and brings Sure, just enough. When changing the position, I don't think it is necessary to fit in the bag, but can turn with the bag. After all, that mouthpiece can be turned with the head?.?.
The hood should have more room to open if you like to stay “more spacious” before sleeping. I also get a Def 4 in the winter, from which I share largely the same experiences.

Compact size, really small and doesn't weigh much if you forget about the comparison of the spändex people's Ultralight toys and talk about really reliable strong stuff. A warm enough intermediate and cool summer bag where there is enough space. If you’ve been to an intin, it’s essentially the same sack but with a more compact size and thinner lining. It works as a second bag if you have a winter bag suitable for a decent Arctic trip, which every zero starts to be unnecessarily hot.

Top sleeping bag. The package size, weight and price are moderate. 181cm / 100kg is going to be awkward to fit comfortably in conventional moomin bags, but with Defense there is no such problem. A big plus is also the sliding opening of the zipper. Getting out of the bag is very easy.

What could you say to this - a luxury manufacturer's luxury bag. Carefully made, light and goes packed in a small space. It is suitably spacious, breathes well, and suffices with a sleeping bag sheet, at least with my own body heat generation well down to zero coils, and with an insulated thermal cloak well above freezing. The possible small amount of moisture that has accumulated in the bag does not change the properties of the bag much and dries in a reasonable time. The lighter base bag does not improve, at least in this price range.
