The compression feature is really good when you need to pack tightly and in a small space (e.g. clothes). The air is really easily removed with the help of a valve. The valve is quite rigid, but with a piece of string, for example, it gets better when you open the valve. The 12L version gets a handy 3-season sleeping bag. This 7L is too small for that.

I wouldn't trust this is 100% waterproof. Because there is no straps to hold the compression to the max it won't keep the bag compressed, some air gets in. Still good quality overall.
