Now already on the third, even though the service life of these trekking shoes has been about 10 years, so I always buy new ones of the same kind. I like the short and padded shaft and the durability and reliability of the soles of the shoes. They adapt to the shape of the foot and support my foot in the right places.

Comfortable hiking boots for year-round use (provided they are large enough to hold proper socks) (they are quite small in size).
Suitable for most purposes, everything from hiking in unpaved terrain to shoes to wear when going to the pub. In addition, they breathe well. If you have to walk through deep water, they are of course too low.
This is my third couple Meindl Island. I bought the first pair in 2001, so the first two pairs lasted together for 19 years!
Highly recommended!

Really impressed with Superfast delivery to Sweden. It feels almost like I am flying when I walk in my new Meindl boots. I walk in the rain and my feet are completely dry. Perfect investment for a healthy life. Thank you!

Best boot!
bought my first pair 20 years ago. Now, unfortunately, the sole has weathered. So happy that it was possible to buy the same fashion. Sits like a slap on the foot.
Usually has size 38 on regular shoes and size 39 on winter shoes. Bought size 40 to possibly get in an sole and vb an extra sock. It is excellent to adjust how it sits on the foot with the lacing.

I bought these shoes for Halti’s jewel and I don’t think the shoes on the other shoes would have stayed as good during the trip. However, the shoes are too stiff for day trips if the terrain is easy to transport, eg on Saariselkä routes or cloth forest trails.
The shoes sat like socks on a foot, and there was little need to run in these before the first trip. In terms of size, I normally wear 38 shoes, and I bought 39 of these so that the shoe can fit in a double sock and the foot has room to swell.

Nama hiking boots passed the test on the Herajarvi round, a strong recommendation! Not a single bladder came, even though I hadn't pushed the shoes in very well, walked a few times for 5km, etc. The water also lasted well - they only got wet after a few hours of pouring rain and mud ponds. Women have good grip even on slippery terrain.
As for the size, I recommend taking a shoe bigger than the standard size. For example, in high heels I always have 37, but here when I wore double socks (thin nylon sock + Bridgedale merino boot sock) and 39.5 size was just right.

The basic fit is just ok and feels good on the foot. The downside comes from sustainability. The shoe can't stand the kind of active use that I have. A little stiff for almost everyday use, but on the other hand a shoe with a stiffer side fits myself. None can withstand the bottom of cold weather but becomes really slippery! Fully a summer shoe or a plus weather shoe. Goretex doesn't really last, it starts to let through water quickly. Quality has deteriorated at Meinl.
