These Hilleberg y-wedges stay in the ground even when shorter v-wedges lose grip, e.g. in sandy and gravel terrain. Pre-made cords are preferable in this case, as the wedges really absorb themselves firmly into the ground. These wedges will definitely be in place when a storm hits. In addition, the color helps you find the wedges when you are in the field. I would never go out into the field without these wedges. They cost a lot compared to other wedges, but they are worth every gram.

Lovely quality as usual from Hilleberg or should i say DAC, they loose a star because they are expensive for what they are compared to alternatives or to buying the regular DAC versions. But use as intended and they are good. I purchased to replace some older model Hilleberg pegs that are not as good, i am pleased with these.

Stronger and slightly longer in length, so more durable than the V-peg. About 13.4 g piece. It would seem to withstand even harder handling (I hit the crushed stone with a hammer, scratched, but not folded), so for more gentle use, the V-peg will work a little lighter, even if the length is enough.
