Salomon shoes are notoriously narrow. I ordered a size larger (44) so I could cut off the extra length. This way I would get slightly wider insoles, but otherwise size 43, for my barefoot-type shoes (sneakers with a wide toe box).
In reality, these size 44 insoles are exactly the same size as the old size 43 ⅓ Salomon XA Rogg 2 insoles (one star off the review for this). The only difference is that the old ones are 100% Ortholite foam, the new ones also have EVA.
I will definitely buy these again in a different size, but since I had to go to the store to look at them on site, I have to take several sizes larger to make them suitable for this project.
In my own use, these Ortholite insoles last well without flattening, etc. (the Salomons I mentioned served for over 3 years before the soles wore out and came off and the Quick Lace laces started to wear out; the insoles could still be used).| Overall rating |
Viking Insole as a replacement for original/standard ones in Viking Trophy Pro High rubber boots because the first ones broke (glue failed on upper textile layer): Look much more premium and I'm very happy about! — Show originalFor over 20 years I have always used XA Pro shoes from Salomon and from memory they were always accompanied by Ortholite insoles.
I had to order a pair of insoles because my dog had chewed one! To my great surprise the product I received is much better than the original one I had in my current shoes which are from 2024! Slightly thicker sole, better cushioning and you feel a better quality product to the touch! I don't know the reason but I intend to ask Salomon why there is this difference?
