This towel is very light and is great for taking on hikes but for everyday use at the gym I find it too thin and would rather select a thicker larger size

SSX is a very small towel and is clearly intended for smaller drying needs. The material is thin but absorbent, dries quickly. If you happen to be a person with a fair amount of hair, this will dry you off in no time. Wash at 30C, a small minus.

A good basic towel. The absorbency is ok, but it even dries a little slowly. The largest size is small for an adult, does not go all the way around. However, the lightness is in a class of its own, so it can be recommended as an "emergency reserve" for a trip.

Lightest on the market right now for its size. Dries quickly. Has also been used to dry mushrooms in and on during mountain tours. Takes a lot of wear and tear!

I bought two towels of different thicknesses but the same size for the weekend bag, this Sea to Summit Airlite Towel and the GearAid Quick Dry Microfiber Towel. These are different but complementary. Fits into a small space and dries well enough. Neither of them is the size of a large beach towel alone, but together they probably go into a 90% smaller space.
